With the recent tragedy that has struck Japan, many celebrities are donating their money and time to help the relief efforts for the worst natural disasters in the country’s history. Gwen Stefani donated $1
million to Save the Children’s Japan relief fund, and Sandra Bullock also donated $1 million to the Red Cross. Katy Perry is donating proceeds of sales of tour merchandise to the Red Cross, and Lady Gaga raised $250,000 in just 48 hours selling “We Pray For Japan” bracelets on her website. Blink-182 is auctioning off memorabilia on ebay, including handwritten lyrics and clothing band members wore in videos, to benefit the Red Cross. Demi Lovato also pledged $1 million to the Japanese Red Cross.

It is amazing to see celebrities using their power for good, and setting a charitable example. While we might not have a spare million lying around to donate, we can all do our part to help Japan. Text “REDCROS” to 90999 to donate $10 to the relief efforts. I love that celebrities are stepping up to help the victims and families of the current disaster, so celebrities, mazel to you.
