Ian Centrone ’12

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UFL chapter.

This week’s Campus Cutie is advertising major Ian Centrone. He loves that advertising gives him the freedom to be creative and allows for diverse opportunities. Ian crushes on Taylor Swift, and one day wants to live in New York City and work for a big advertising agency.

Age: 20

Ethnic background: Italian/Irish/Polish/German/Cherokee

Hometown: I was born and raised in Mount Sinai, New York. It’s a small hamlet on Long Island’s North Shore.

Relationship status: Currently single

Expected Graduation year: Spring 2012…hopefully. But I guess staying at UF an extra semester wouldn’t be so bad. Isn’t the world supposed to end in 2012 anyway?

Major and Why: I chose to major in Advertising because I’m a creative person who likes to think outside the box and work under pressure. Advertising is such a multi-faced industry with so many diverse opportunities. Plus, all of the biggest centers for advertising are found in my favorite cities across the country.

Favorite TV shows/music/movies: I don’t watch too much TV, but if I do, I typically watch Discovery Channel, A&E, or infomercials. I have a pretty eclectic taste in music, but my favorites are Ben Folds, Counting Crows, and Pete Yorn. And I think my favorite movie is Just Friends

Ideal boyfriend/girlfriend: Taylor Swift. Except, maybe not as tall and not as psychotic.

Idea of Perfect Date: I’m not sure, but I will tell you it’s not rock climbing. Definitely an awful date idea. Probably grabbing dinner at The Top, and then heading to Midtown for the night.

Favorite thing about UF: Being involved in the Florida Cicerones. It’s been without a doubt the overall best experience of my college career.

Where you see yourself in 10 years: Living in New York City, being a workaholic at a major advertising agency, and probably married to Taylor Swift.

Favorite quote: “WE’LL DO IT LIVE!” coined by Bill O’Reilly, but made infamous by Reggie Wilson.
