I’ve learned a lot from the Jump Start Diet these past two months. Among the most important lessons were how planning can be an effective weight loss tool and how to channel my stress in a whole new way.
Well, now those skills are being tested. It’s no secret I’m an emotional eater. Heck, that’s how I got to where I was at the beginning of this diet. So with exams around the corner, my emotions are definitely going through a roller coaster.
Exam time is extra stressful. In the past, I would always end up running down the stairs of my dorm to the vending machine and buy a muffin. It was practically an end of the semester tradition. Those fattening muffins were the only the only things keeping me going.
But not this year—at least I’m definitely trying. Stress is at an all-time high this semester. With graduating, exams, final projects, everything—I’m not going to lie. I’m pretty close to keeling over and dying from stress.
Still, I’m proud to say I have abstained from the muffins.
However, it’s going to take a lot more effort than just not eating muffins if I’m going to keep losing weight. So what’s a perfect stress-buster? EXERCISE!
With today being the last day of classes, I have tons of “free time” now. Well, when I’m not working on my final projects or studying that is. My plan? I’ll be hitting the gym to burn off some calories and stress.
What’s your de-stressing plan? I could definitely use some tips. Email me at NikkiRoberti@HerCampus.com or tweet me anytime @Nikki_Roberti.
