Do you have thoughts or inspirations and spend hours a day on your computer? You could be the next great blogger.
With social media like Facebook and Twitter that are instant and generally short and sweet, people forget about one of the first online sensations. Internet diaries became popular in the late 1990s, but now blogs have become a great way to spread style, design, fashion and photography through the web.
It allows freelancers and citizen journalists to share their personal inspirations and style from around the world instantly.
Here’s a few blogs that focus on fashion, interior design and photography that have received accolades in the style world lately.
The SartorialistÂ
If you don’t already have Scott Schuman on your RS Feed, you need to add him ASAP. His blog captures street style from the world’s trendiest cities like Milan, Paris and New York City. The Sartorialist, literally meaning someone interested in clothing, has been featured in seven international volumes of Vogue, as well as GQ, Elle Girl and Esquire Magazine just to name a few. Of course, you may have heard of him when he named Brittany from Glee the most fashionable teen in America.
He captures the soul of the cities through the most unique outfits that fit into current trends, and if they’re not current trends, they will be after he posts them. He has even been selected as one ofTime Magazine’s Top 100 Design Influences. His funky style and flare for catching fads before they’re mainstream is what has led this blog to be one of the most popular on the web. You can also follow him on twitter @Sartorialist and download the app to your smart phone.
 A Cup of JoÂ
Not quite as internationally renowned, this new mom has great style for the everyday lady.
Joanna writes about fashion, design, photography, bikes and the people she loves who include her new husband and baby boy. Although she has recently turned more family oriented, she still blogs about current trends and cute stuff she finds around the web like cool hotels to stay at when you travel, gift guides for your favorite people at holidays and birthdays and of course hair and beauty trends.
As the former writer for Smitten, Glamour Magazine’s relationship blog, she has a lot experience in writing for female readers and is just the kind of city girl so many college students aspire to be. You can also follow her for posting updates and neat pictures @Joannagoddard.
Plush PalateÂ
Crystal Gentilello founded Rue Magazine online this year and Plush Palate is the behind-the-scenes look at all things interior design and fashion that go into her mag.
Magazines are one of the only print publications people still reach for religiously, and Crystal is one of the first I’ve see to publish only online copies of hers.
Rue Magazine was created with three other blog lovers. Bri Emery, graphic designer and voice of the blog Design Lovefest does layout while Cassandra Lavalle of Coco + Kelly and Anne Sage of The City Sage  also edit. They believe that friendship can be forged across continents by only a kind word and a shared lust for leopard print pillows and that inspiration is everywhere. Check out @RueMagazine for lots of updates on their latest issue.
