Leo, Lagerfeld and ‘Lantern’: What it’s Like to be Blake Lively

Fabulous clothes? Check. Hot new boyfriend? Check. Fashion designer friends? Check. Glamour Magazine’s July cover girl Blake Lively seems to have it all, and it doesn’t stop there.

This June, Blake plays a fighter pilot in action movie Green Lantern. And as if that wasn’t enough, she’s also the love interest of Ryan Reynolds’ character Hal Jordan. Is anybody else jealous yet?

Leonardo DiCaprio, if you answered yes, don’t worry. It’s not every day a girl goes boating with you in Cannes — or maybe it is, if you’re Leo?

Regardless, the two have been caught canoodling all over the world. Spotted: Blake and Leo in France, Blake and Leo in Italy, Blake and Leo in New York City — it’s too bad the star doesn’t have a Twitter account (“Honestly, I’m so sick of myself,” she explained), which makes it that much more difficult for us to track her down.

Though the romance is really taking off and going anywhere but down (guesses on future destinations?) Blake said in a Glamour interview conducted by new BFF Florence Welch that for her, a breakup isn’t always a negative thing.

“Every relationship you have, you’re learning and growing and taking something from that. So for me, it’s never been too dramatic of a thing when something ends,” she said. Such wise words.

One relationship Blake’s really growing from is that with Chanel’s head designer and creative director Karl Lagerfeld, with whom she went to the Met Gala this May.

Earlier this year, Blake was confirmed as the face of Chanel’s Mademoiselle handbag collection. According to Lagerfeld, Blake is “a kind of American dream girl.”

“It’s such an honor,” Blake said to Florence of landing the highly-coveted spot. “When I found out I got [the job], you and I went to dinner and concocted this plan, like two little girls at a tea party, saying, ‘Oh, it would be the best if we had a party. And you’ll perform, and we’ll do it in Paris.’ Like you and I were in charge of Chanel!”

Being decked out in Chanel isn’t something Blake is stranger to, and it’s certainly of her own accord.

“I think I became my own stylist by not knowing any better,” Blake said. “And once I was told it was time to get one, I thought: This is one of my favorite hobbies! And I’m going to pay someone to steal my hobby from me? That’s a terrible idea!”
