Kim Kardashian’s Wedding Registry: Why She Needs $650,000 in Gifts

It’s what we’ve all been waiting for! No, sorry ladies, Robert Pattinson is still taken. I’m talking about Kim Kardashian’s wedding registry — all $650,000 of it.

From fancy vases to expensive kitchen necessities extravagances, here are some of the items Kim has on her wish lists at Gearys, a luxury shop in Beverly Hills and Williams-Sonoma, a high-end home store — and why she really needs what she’s asking for.

Tourbillon Black Vase, $6,500

Statement cocktail (engagement?) rings to Kim are like this Tourbillon Black Vase to her home. They are pretty to look at, but don’t serve much of a purpose — at only 8 1/2 inches tall, she’s going to have to cut the stems of soon-to-be hubby Kris Humphries’ flowers pretty short if she wants to showcase them in this vase. I don’t know about you, though — if I had a vase worth half a year of rent, I wouldn’t let it near any sort of wildlife. Hello, bugs?

Baccarat Missouri Candy Jar, $375

Please — what is Kim going to do with her top picks from Dylan’s Candy Bar, keep them in the bag? I mean, sure they tie it off with a pretty bow and put a decorative sticker on the front, but the pinks and yellows and blues of the logo really don’t match with the decor of the rest of her home. Obvs this candy dish is a must-have.

K+T Ice Tongs, $195

Despite the fact that Gearys offers ice tong and bucket sets at much lower price points (you know, like, $95), Kim’s in dire need for a pair of ice tongs sans bucket for at least a hundred dollars more. Plus, she likes a different ice bucket (only $635, what a steal!). I get it, she needs the right set. We all saw what happened at her housewarming party last summer — beer pong balls weren’t the only things being thrown. If she had had the proper kitchenware and utensils perhaps a food fight would not have ensued.

Rose Scalloped Sterling Frame, $470

Of all the picture frames Gearys carries, this is the most expensive. Of all the picture frames Gearys carries, this one is the only one that, as the website reads, provides “a truly romantic appeal.” Makes sense. She’s getting married, give her a break.

Vertigo Handled Serving Tray, $1,050

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so it only makes sense that it’s served on what in another life was once a thousand dollars. I commend Kim for her modesty though. The tray’s very plain, very basic, very practical appearance definitely does not scream wealth. All the more reason to spend even more money on it. Am I right?

Meditating Nude Statue, $325

This statue’s versatility makes up for its steep price. Put it in the bedroom to immediately create a feeling of calm zen. Put it in the dining room to remind you that if you want to look that great in the nude, you should take your hand out of that $375 candy dish. Put it in the foyer to scare off any potential stalkers.

Other items on her registry include, but I’m sure are not limited to, martini glasses ($46 each), HermĂ©s presentation plates ($304 each), a Lalique Ingrid Black Vase ($4,625), Ascutney glasses ($55 each), Balcon du Guadalquivir plates by HermĂ©s ($105 each), crystal bar bowls ($140 each), a Lalique Cactus Flacon ($450), Havana ashtrays ($840 each), a Lalique New York-style black clock ($1,115) and a Baccarat Cosmos extra large vase ($7,500).

So far, a few Baccarat jars and a Baba Vicaro bowl have been crossed off the list, meaning that yes, you can still contribute.

Now all I want to know is how much she’s planning on spending on her wedding dress. Any guesses?
