Nearly four months after debuting the eye-catching ‘Graphite’ polish on its runways at Paris Fashion Week in March, Chanel has finally revealed all three colors in its Fall 2011 nail lacquer collection.
Next fall’s colors are a far cry from last spring’s neutral’s and this summer’s brights — instead, Chanel is taking us over to the dark side with endearing shades including ‘Graphite,’ a silvery grey, ‘Quartz,’ a beige with a metallic sheen and ‘Péridot,’ a two-tone fusion of gold and green, similar to last winter’s ever-popular purple-grey ‘Paradoxal.’
With nail color being more of a fashion statement than ever nowadays (you know how the conversation goes: “OMG, is that Essie’s ‘Sand Tropez’?!” “OPI’s ‘Mimosas for Mr. and Mrs., duhz!”), the long-awaited line is now available online. The rest of the French fashion house’s beauty line will be available in stores beginning July.
As for my take on the colors? I love the mystery behind the colors (it’s gold…no, it’s green!) but I’ll most likely bypass the gold and head straight for the ‘Graphite’ — I never get sick of the urban chic feel behind dark purples and greys, no matter what the season because they go with everything.
I can’t wait to get my hands on the polish — or should I say I can’t wait to get the polish on my hands? Chanel’s seasonal polishes are sold for a limited time only, so don’t wait; get your grunge on now!
