Hey pre-collegiettes™! (High school girls, that’s you!)
If you’ve always dreamed of a career in journalism, you’re not alone. As you probably learned in The Devil Wears Prada, an entry-level position at a magazine is something “a million girls would kill for.” But the industry is notoriously tough to break into. How can you get your foot in the door?
For starters, Her Campus has an exciting program for high school bloggers. Now in its second year, the program is designed to give eager up-and-coming journalists a boost. High school juniors and seniors will chronicle their daily activities and experiences throughout the academic year on Her Campus’s Pre-Collegiette™ Blog. Stressed about the SATs? Vent about it here. Pumped about your latest college visit? Tell us about it! We want to hear all about your high school ups and downs and your experience with the college process.
If you’re passionate about a career in media, Her Campus will give you the skills and experience you need to get there. Since joining the Her Campus Team, our writers have been offered jobs and internships at Seventeen, Glamour, Teen Vogue, Vogue, Marie Claire, InStyle, Harper’s Bazaar, O magazine, The Washington Post, MTV, Us magazine, and Star magazine, among others.
Think you’ve got what it takes? Apply to be a Her Campus High School Blogger using this form by September 15. We’d love to hear from you!
