It’s the beginning of a new semester and you’re already consumed with hours upon hours of daily assignments, required readings, lectures and Midtown. Repetition can be such a drag, so why not revamp and update your life with one savvy refresher at a time?
From here on out, your daily grind doesn’t have to be an endless circle. Savvy Updates is a blog about revamping the everyday lives and activities of collegiate women. From organizing your schedule to organizing your closet, your newly refreshed life will be anything but dull.
To start off a new semester, I’d love to give a few helpful tips to organize your daily tasks and update your time-management skills. After all, the more time you save during your average routine, the more time you have to do the things that you enjoy!
1) Get an agenda book.
If you get in to the habit of writing all of your assignments, tests and assigned readings in one place, you won’t be frazzled the night before class trying to remember where that bit of paper was with which chapters to read before the test (or that cute classmate’s phone number!).
2) Keep a calendar handy.
I love being able to see all of my assignments and tests for a class as well as events in the grand scheme of things. It’s nice to see a list of tasks before you that are spaced out instead of just an overwhelming list. My favorite calendar application is iCalendar because it lets you make separate calendars for each different set of events in your life. I have one for school, sorority events and Gator football games! Having access to a calendar helps you manage your day and make the most out of your time.
3) Enjoy the little things.
No matter how overwhelming your schedule is this semester, take the time to enjoy your walks through campus and always stop for the occasional Mochi frozen yogurt. Spend time with friends, meet new people and sit in the front row during class! Enjoy your time at the University of Florida and come out of your comfort zone. Every opportunity you can imagine is waiting for you here, all you have to do is go looking for it.
Follow these tips and your first few weeks of class will be successful, practical and completely manageable with your exciting life!
