The dreariness of dragging a loaded backpack to Fogler every day can get a bit old. I figured that out last semester, which is why my goal for this summer was to find a better, cuter, way to tote my school supplies around campus. In June I spotted the cutest solution to my question: Sea Bags.

The Sea Bags is made in Maine product that is produced from old sails being turned into bags of all sizes. The medium bag is the perfect size for binders, computers and accessories and the rope handles make it durable enough to survive a typical Maine winter.

Where to find these cute totes:

Sea Bags central store is located in downtown Freeport, Maine and offers a wide selection of their bags. However, if you are no where near Freeport or want to view all your options you can check out their website at www.seabags.com

Maven in Maine
is a store located right in downtown Orono, Mill St. to be exact, and carries a wide selection of the bags….and a little something extra. Show your Black Bear pride with the custom made University of Maine “M” Sea Bag tote. If you are up at school and love these bags, take the 5-minute walk to Maven in Maine and grab one of these adorable bags before they are all gone!

If the look and durability of this tote doesn’t completely sell you on it, focus on the fact that you are not only buying local but you are buying recycled and reused sales. By purchasing a Sea Bag you are showing your support for local Maine business and a greener Maine.
