The collegiettes™ of UT take full advantage of the power of shoes to spice up an outfit. In UT Fall Fashion, ballet flats were highlighted as a 2011 must have. Let’s look beyond the flats walk in the five favorite shoes of UTK ladies.

TOMS

It’s 8 a.m. and the first waves of students are hitting the sidewalks. With just a few hours of sleep under their eyes, UT ladies are all about comfort when it comes to early morning schedules. The shoe of choice: TOMS. TOMS are not new to the trends of UT, but they’re as popular as ever. Comfortable and cute these shoes are a favorite at UT. And you can’t overlook the charitable idea behind every pair you buy.

Strappy Sandals

For those lucky ladies that don’t grace the classroom until after a good breakfast and some coffee, sassy sandals take over. Girls are taking advantage of the southern heat and keeping their summer shoes out for a few more weeks. With a variety of styles, their perfect for letting your feet breathe while simultaneously decorating any outfit from a t-shirt to a dress.

Combat Boots

While UT has its flares of preppy trends, Tennessee girls stay on top of fashion trends. The latest flair in fashion, the combat boot. More and more we are seeing these masculine shoes paired with a feminine ensemble. Rihanna rocked this look at the 2010 VMAs and now Volunteer girls are bringing it to school.

Rope Sandals

Rope sandals are walking the hallowed hills of old UT more and more frequently. Thick headbands and flowing skirts are the perfect matches for unique woven footwear.

Wedges

Forget pointed-toe heels and stilettos, if the girls of UT are going out, they’re going out wedges! They’re all the height and twice the style. Wedges are no longer confined to the cotton comfort summer shoes. Thanks to today’s designers wedges have made their move to sheik. And they’re comfortable to walk in? Why didn’t we wear these before?
