Tuesday’s tornado warnings and monumental storm left nearly all of Chapel Hill in hiding. The Pit, pictured here at about 2PM, couldn’t have looked more like a ghost-town. Normally bustling with students advertising their favorite clubs or grabbing a quick bite at Lenior, its only inhabitant was this orange traffic cone warning students of the nearly 3 inches of standing water.
While many girls stepped out for the day in their most hardcore gear, a few ladies took the opportunity to stand out in chic, yet functional rainy day looks. The keys to looking put-together and stylish while staying dry are trendy yet functional headwear and footwear.
Colorful or patterned rain boots, like these seen on two UNC sophomores, pump some fun into an otherwise lifeless ensemble and make for a serious mood booster while getting dressed on dreary days like this!
Once the rain lets up, a totally spot-on straw fedora is the perfect way to cover up any number of hair maladies caused by the frizz-inducing rain and lingering humidity. Faranak Amiri, a junior from Miami, further elevated her basic tee and shorts look with unique tribal accessories that keep her looking stylish but won’t weigh her down in this weather. With the right footwear and headwear, anyone can be a style knockout in even the worst of climates!
