Last Monday, I headed up to Chicago to visit the ladies of Her Campus UIC and to give a presentation on the importance of Mobile Manners. The whole event was paid for and supported by Intel as a follow-up to their Mobile Technology Etiquette 2011 Report.Â
Here are Her Campus’s top Mobile Manners Tips:
- Use your laptop to take notes, not to go on online shopping sprees during class. Also, stay off your mobile in class, have the courtesy to Gchat ;)
- NEVER, EVER tweet, text or Facebook while on a date if you want there to be another one; same applies if you want to keep your friends.Â
- Avoid use of your mobile device while walking on campus, and through the dining hall. Nothing good can come of walking into something (or someone)!
- Don’t camp out with your laptop in crowded cafés on campus. One latte does not buy you a day pass.
To reward students for getting up early on a Monday to come to our event, we gave away an amazing 2nd generation Intel Core i5-based Samsung Series 9 ultra-sleek laptop. Here’s our UIC Campus Correspondent Marissa Govedarica with some information on Her Campus, Intel, and the hot laptop!
The breakfast was delicious. Look at all that food!
We got these cute door hangers from Intel to pass out!
Here I am with some members of the Her Campus UIC team at the event:
In the process of talking about Mobile Manners, we tied in some useful information about the differences between the 2nd generation Intel Core processors. Check out which processors the students of UIC are dying for in the video below.Â
