Though they’ve never stepped down Pedestrian walkway, their influence has inspired women at UT as well as all over the country. Windsor Hanger, Stephanie Kaplan and Annie Wang created Her Campus Magazine as part of a business competition at their alma mater, Harvard.

They soon realized the site was bigger than the competition. Now, as we celebrate Her Campus’ 2nd birthday, we pay homage to the inspiration and example these Inc. Magazine 30 Under 30 Coolest Young Entrepreneurs, Galmour Magazine 20 Amazing Young Women, and The Boston Globe 25 Most Stylish Bostonians have provided for women on hundreds of campus across the U.S.

College students get hounded with speeches on how terrible the job market is. So it can get stressful being in your final years of school and not knowing where you’ll go once you graduate. These ladies are a prime example that you can make success happen.

Hard work, dedication and a great attitude can take you a long way, even in today’s competitive world. They created a name for themselves, created a magazine for themselves, and expanded their ideas into a full-blown business.

Now, they offer collegiettes™ everywhere a foot in the door of the journalism world. Her Campus is a hugely beneficial outlet for students working their way to a career in reporting.

These women have given all of their Campus Correspondents, interns, contributing writers, and readers hope for what they can accomplish when they set their minds to it. In a society where girls look to celebrities for guidance, it’s refreshing to have truly intelligent and beautiful women to look to as real role models.

Meet the founders on their Her Campus page.
