Showing school spirit doesn’t mean you have to resort to sweatpants and t-shirts. Sure, that might be all that’s sold in the bookstore, but you can turn those standard black and gold pieces into something to call your own. Here are a few tips on how you can spruce up that new black sweatshirt you bought last week and still show your Tiger pride.

  1. Try wearing an over-sized sweatshirt with cut-off shorts, an arm stacked with bracelets and a small crossbody bag. What screams “hipster” better than this sweatshirt with a giant heart?
  2. Who says you can’t get professional in Mizzou gear? Take a cue from the South and pair your Mizzou polo with a pair of chinos, Sperry Top-Siders and a wristwatch.
  3. The black fleeces sold at the bookstore don’t show a lot of school spirit, but they do have the logo and a tiger stitched into them. Wear your fleece this fall with vibrant winter accessories. Yes, vibrant – as in red, purple, blue, yellow or all the colors at once.
  4. V-necks are the go-to item for women who despise t-shirts. There’s something about the fitting that allows us to wear them freely and beautifully. Pair this v-neck with oxfords and a leather bag, and if you get cold, throw on an open cardigan.
