Fashion at Your Fingertips: Best Fashion Apps

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at JMU chapter.

With the number of exams, papers and ongoing projects that I have, time for reading fashion magazines is nearly nonexistent.  While I wish that I could flip through my favorite glossies on a daily basis, I unfortunately don’t have that luxury.  From the latest runway reports and designer collaboration lines (Jason Wu for Target!) to look books brimming with street chic inspiration, there’s oodles to miss out on in the fashion world.  If you’re looking to fulfill your passion for fashion, do what I do and turn to fashion apps!  Here are a few of my favorites…

Style.com – From complete runway collections to behind-the-scenes videos and a daily blog, this app is a one-stop shop for everything fashion.  Ever wonder what starlets are wearing at Hollywood parties and premieres?  Style.com has you covered for that as well, providing you with exclusive photos.  My favorite part of the app is the Look of the Day poll.  From the most outrageous runway looks to elegant gowns on the red carpet, vote on which celebrity you think is best dressed.

chicfeed – Running low on outfit inspiration?   Want to think outside the box when it comes to putting together ensembles?  Turn to chicfeed for the daily fashion styling of some of the web’s top trendsetters.  At the tap of a finger, you can instantly be inspired by the fashion-forward and effortlessly chic style mavens featured on The Sartorialist, LookBook and Altamira.  With this app, you will never run dry of outfit inspiration again!

ShopStyle – Looking for a cute wool coat in a particular color and style?  ShopStyle not only eliminates the trouble of visiting numerous online websites, but it also allows you to narrow your search so you can easily locate the item that you are looking for.  As stated on their homepage, ShopStyle has “all the stores you love, all in one place.”  With each category broken up into subcategories (search by brand, store, size, color and price), this app is super conventional and user-friendly.  You can even sign up to get sale alerts from your favorite stores and designers!

So collegiettes™, what are your favorite fashion apps?
