Skidmore Guys Weigh In: What Makes A Girl Stand Out?

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Skidmore chapter.

At a small, 60/40 school, the inevitable happens: we talk about guys. A lot. We could, as girls, write about what we think guys are thinking, but what fun is that? Instead, we’ve asked some of Skidmore’s finest men to give us their opinions on some of your most burning questions. Here’s what they had to say!

Dear HC,
I’ve always wondered what’s the best way to attract a guy’s attention. But now at Skidmore, I definitely need more advice! How do I stand out when there are so many more girls than guys here?
Sincerely,
Woes in Wilmarth

We asked: What makes a girl stand out to you?

“Whatstands out to me is natural beauty. When girls don’t have to wear makeup, that’s my favorite thing in the world.” – Miles

“Easy to talk to, like open and friendly. Even if you say something stupid they have something friendly to respond. Also, body language. The more body language there is the better.” -*Ian

“They have to be somewhat pretty, but the most important thing is the way they talk to you at first. If they’re nice and bubbly, that’s way better than a pretty girl who’s just unfriendly.” –*Paul

“Breasts… I mean, face.” -*Derek

“Personally what I look for first in a girl is her smile. Gotta have an unreal smile. Gotta have the eyes too.” – Sam

“Well confidence… not like bitchy stuck-up, buts ome girls kinda just own the place.”- *James

“I would have to say the number one thing that makes a girl stand out to me is without a doubt a funny personality. A girl who laughs a lot and is not afraid to make fun of herself always makes me feel comfortable. And bluntness is a plus. A girl who is not afraid to speak her mind and be straightforward will always stand out to me.” – *Travis
