Lindsay Biggs: Campus Fashionista #Winning

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Eckerd chapter.

This trend-setting Sophomore from Topeka, Kansas not only dominates on the volleyball court, but in the classroom and her closet.  Coming off of a historical winning volleyball season and juggling an intense biology major, Lindsay still manages to find time to look fashionable everyday.  So how exactly does she do it?  Her answer, simply “throw on jeans and a cute shirt!”

Lindsay describes her style as, “not edgy, just classic”.  So where does she find this elusive style?  Her favorite places to shop are Forever 21 and Nordstrom’s.  You can also find her shopping in some small boutiques back home with her Mom.  Lindsay says they always shop together and that her Mom is one of her inspirations when it comes to style.

You can always find Lindsay wearing her favorite accessories, which include cute earrings or a trendy watch.  But don’t let her catch you with your bra straps showing–it’s her biggest pet peeve when it comes to fashion.  She suggests, “every girl should invest in one of those strap holders for her bra straps.” (Strap Perfect, ladies).

What’s her perfect date outfit?  She says, “keep it casual with some cute jeans, a ‘night’ shirt and some heels”.  Don’t be fooled though, her favorite fashion trend is yoga pants because they’re so comfy.  When asked whose celebrity closet she would raid her answer was Jessica Simpson or one of the Kardashians.

Lindsay’s last words of advice for our striving fashionista’s: “Dress comfortably and don’t force it!”

Some girls have all the fun; Devon Elizabeth Williams happens to be one of them. A carb loving, liberal hailing from Lakeville, Massachusetts, Devon is a senior at Eckerd College in Saint Petersburg, Florida pursuing a  major in Political Science with a double minor in Journalism and International Relations. After spending January 2011 in an intensive Winter Term program at the United Nations in New York, Devon realized that taking over the world will be more difficult than anticipated, but nothing that a vivacious red head in stilettos can’t handle. In her free time Devon is a bartending beauty queen who has a soft spot for blueberry pie, Broadway and the scheming antics of Blair Waldorf. When she’s not paddle boarding at the waterfront or laying out on Eckerd’s private South Beach you can find Devon singing in the alto section of the concert choir. At the end of the day Devon is thankful for Newport, RI, her family, Sadie the black lab, Paul Mitchell, her girlfriends, Cheetah, and rhinestones.
