You’ve written blogs for HC-Wisconsin for a year now — starting with Livin’ LaArgentina, and now for your dating blog. What’s the best part about posting your writing on Her Campus?

The best part about writing for HC is being able to infuse my own personality into my posts! I am always able to add some of my own flair and creativity, and my faaaabulous editor (shout out to you, Kaitlyn Schnell) allows me the freedom to do that.

How did you become interested in writing?

I’ve always loved reading entertainment and gossip magazines, and I think my interest in writing stemmed from my desire to emulate the fun articles I saw in them. I had a couple of really great English teachers in high school who definitely helped hone my writing skills and really taught me to enjoy writing.

What do you plan on doing after graduation?

Eeeek the dreaded question. My ultimate goal is to write for a smart, funny, pop culture-based magazine, so something like Entertainment Weekly or Rolling Stone would be ideal. I know I’ll probably have to start a little lower on the totem pole, though, so I’m anticipating doing more blogging until I figure everything out.

What advice do you have for people who want to start blogging?

Put yourself out there! There are plenty of opportunities for aspiring bloggers, whether it be a one-time submission or starting up your own blog. Most blogging sites today are also super user-friendly, so even the most technologically-challenged – myself included – can navigate their way through the blogosphere.

Besides your blog (duh!), what’s your favorite Her Campus section?

Well the Campus Cutie sections are always fun to look at, but the Real Live College Guy section is truly a winner in my book. The articles give us gals some much-needed male perspective, and the Guy’s answers to our questions are truthful, risqué and juuuust snarky enough to get a laugh out of me.
