If you watched the 69th annual Golden Globe Awards this Sunday, chances are you oohed and ahhed over the red carpet styles of Hollywood’s hottest stars. From Zooey Deschanel’s tuxedo nails to nude nail looks by Claire Danes, Heidi Klum, and Charlize Theron, nail polishes are an essential accessory to any celebrity outfit. But two celebrities stood out wearing nail lacquers by O.P.I.
George Clooney’s latest girlfriend, model Stacy Keibler, looked strikingly beautiful on Clooney’s arm draped in a slim-fitting red dress and pairing her black heels with delicate diamonds, but it was O.P.I.’s nail lacquer Did You ‘Ear About Van Gogh? that complemented her classic look. This new nude is part of the Holland collection, launching for the Spring/Summer 2012 season. The collection showcases 12 different colorful and creatively named shades, but Did You ‘Ear About Van Gogh? stands out as a warm café au lait color that can add polished sophistication to almost any skin tone or outfit.
Laura Linney, who was nominated for Best Actress in a TV series for her role in The Big C, drew a lot of eyes on the red carpet for pairing her purple-hued dress with star dangle earrings paired her and the jewel-toned O.P.I. nail lacquer Congeniality is My Middle Name, a limited edition shade from the Miss Universe collection last summer. It’s a lot like The One That Got Away from the Katy Perry collection with just a hint of shimmer in an otherwise moody berry wine shade.
The Holland collection by OPI will be available February 8, at professional salons including ULTA, Macy’s JCPenney, and select drug stores for $8.50 each.
The Congeniality is My Middle Name shade is limited edition and although it’s no longer sold in stores, you can easily find it on Amazon or e-commerce auction sites.
I think both of these two polishes add a shade of sophistication to any outfit and I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled for the Holland collection in-store this spring!
