You may already know Cheniece Richardson if you’ve gone to any Under Armour giveaways this past year, either on the councourse or even after fitness classes at the Student ACT. Cheniece is a Hospitality Management major and very involved in Auburn Organizations. She is an officer in her sorority, a member of Tigerettes and Tiger Hosts (athletic recruiters), the president of Soccer Sweethearts and one of the Under Armour Women Campus Ambassadors. Her Campus Auburn caught up with the busy collegiette™ to give you a little more info about one of the girls behind the giveaways!
HC Auburn: How did you become an Under Armour ambassador? What do you like most about the brand and getting to promote it on campus?
Cheniece: I got involved with Under Armour Women by filling out an application. We were interviewed over the phone then emailed if we were selected. We then attended brand training at the headquarters in Baltimore and learned everything possible about Under Armour! We hold fitness events on campus, mostly at the Student Act and hand out free Under Armour Women apparel. Our purpose for doing that is to not only get UA’s name out but to promote fitness and that there are stylish and efficent performance gear for all sizes!
HC Auburn: What appealed to you about the Under Armour brand?
Cheniece: My favorite thing about under armour is the vibrant color and perfect fit! Their clothes come in sizes for all women. My favorite part about working for UA is that they ask me and the other ambassador how we feel about the clothing and ask us about latest trends. They really take into consideration what we say and it makes me enjoy my job better.
HC Auburn: How do you manage your time effectively with so much responsibility outside of class?
Cheniece: I wouldn’t be able to do it without my planner! I am very organized!
HC Auburn: What advice do you have for other Auburn women regarding becoming a leader on campus?
Cheniece: My advice for women on campus who want to get involved is look through the student organizations online, find something you are interested in, and pursue it! Also, stick to your organizations so then you can move up in them with officer positions!
HC Auburn: How can students get involved with Under Armour at Auburn?
Cheniece: Girls can get involved with Under Armour by liking our page on facebook because we post all of our events there and when we are handing out out free apparel! You can also contact myself or the other ambassador Christina Bumpus for any information!
