T.J. Brennan ’14

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Seton Hall chapter.

Name: Thomas James Brennan (don’t call him Thomas, though!)

Nickname: T.J.

Year: 2014

Hometown: Floral Park, Long Island, NY

Dorm: Xavier Hall

Major: Journalism, English Minor

Status: Single

Activities: News Copy Editor for The Setonian, Assistant Tech Ops at 89.5 FM WSOU, Alumni Director of Alpha Sigma Phi, NRHH

Activity he enjoys most: I actually enjoy all of them because they keep me busy and force me to incorporate different aspects of my leadership abilities. If I had to choose one it would be the Alumni Director position of my fraternity. It allows me to be a mediator, but more importantly a communicator between two different groups. That really gives me a great advantage in the communication field.
Describe yourself in three words: Fun-loving, romantic, charismatic

What is your favorite SHU memory? I don’t think it has happened yet, but to date it would be a night in towards the end of spring semester freshman year. We looked back, and I realized how truly blessed I am to have the friends I do, and it was the night I realized that I had made the right choice in coming to Seton Hall.

What do you look for in a girl? I look for personality and compatibility. She has to be smart, funny, and able to understand my sense of humor. She has to be confident in herself, but not too confident. Over-confidence and self-esteem issues are a major turnoff. As for looks, honestly, they’re just cake.

If you could be a superhero, who would you be and why? Iron Man. I wouldn’t want to have to hide behind an identity. I would want people to know how awesome I was, not because I was rich or anything like that. Simply, I just would want people to know I have a human side.

What would be your ideal date? Movie first, a romantic comedy because I love those. The movie would be used as an ice breaker, but also a conversation starter for dinner. Yes, there is dinner involved and it’s my treat. After dinner I’d suggest a nice walk, looking at the stars. I walk her back home, leaving her with a kiss on the cheek.

What do you do for fun on campus? I hang out with friends mostly. I also enjoy reading Shakespeare’s sonnets. But really it’s anything I can do to have some fun.
