Reminiscent of Vampire Weekend but with more of a West Coast flair, The Smiles take any listener on a fun, exciting ride with their song Cala Cola. What is Cala Cola anyway? Perhaps it isn’t the lyrics that drew me into this song. “Spending money on hoes?” No, not so much my taste, but what I can appreciate is the group’s energy. I really got hooked on this song and know you will too. If nothing else, this tune may take you back to a happier time, namely winter break, which unfortunately is already feeling like a distant memory. Let’s all go back to those warm, sandy beaches, or for some, go back home, to god-knows-where ____(fill in the blank with your town) where you had time to day-dream about being on those warm, sandy beaches.
