From the hottest campus trends to most bizarre things to buy in the Skid shop, there’s always ten that deserve our extra attention. Check back weekly as the topics get even more exciting and find out the ten that land a spot at the top of our list.Â

What’s up this spring? Check out ten things to look forward to this semester, both on and off campus.
1. The first ever Saratoga BEER WEEK!
It is exactly what it sounds it is…a beer celebration throughout Saratoga. Mark your calendars: Feburary 23-25 and buy your tickets! Visit www.saratogabeerweek.com for more information or follow Beer Week chit chat on Twitter (#BeerWeek2012).
Â
2. The Green (Frisbee, barbeques, laying around, etc.)
You know it’s spring at Skidmore when everyone and anyone can be found camping out on the green all day every day… the percentage of skipped classes always increases when the sun comes out.
3. Leap Day
Come on, it only happens once every four years… it warrents excitement.Â
Â
4. 4/20, ‘National Weed Day’
Celebrate or not, we just want to know what press and publicity will Skidmore get this year? We’ve read and seen numerous front-page newspaper stories, specials on the nightly news, and endless emails from the Skidmore higher-ups about conduct at Skidmore on April 20th… so really, who isn’t anticipating what this year will bring? Who knows, maybe camp-po will bust out the horses again.
Â
5. Earth Day
This is like fun day part two for all our earth loving collegiettesTM. Similar to Fun Day, Earth Day is a full-fledged day on the green behind the libe with live music, games, barbequing, and oh so much more. Make sure you don’t miss the Earth Day festivities this year. Go green or go home this April 22nd!
6. Humans vs. Zombies (affectionately abbreviated ‘HvZ’)
The game made its debut at Skidmore last year, and I’d say it was a grand success: those who played loved it, and those who watched those who played loved it. If you don’t know what HvZ is all about, you will the second you see tons of bright orange (the game color) on kids dashing to-and-from buildings and “tagging” each other with “foam dart blasters.” Ohhh college, we’ve grown up so much. Check out the rules and more at the official game site.
7. Spring Concert
The anticipation is killing me… We hope a) the plug isn’t pulled and the full concert actually happens, and b) no one gets trampled this time.Â
8. FUN DAY
What’s there to say? It goes without saying that everyone loves Fun Day. It’s fun. Nuff said.
9. Senior Week
Classes are over, exams begin and end,  the youngin’s move out of dorms and leave campus for the summer…then… Senior Week begins. Granted, some underclassmen do stick around (if sponsored by a senior) and, together, everyone enjoys  of pure insanity. Senior Week 2012 promises to be great insanity.
10. Graduation…dun dun dun
