Let’s face it: we all want to be jet setters. Who doesn’t fantasize about travelling the globe, seeing amazing sites, drinking fancy drinks, meeting fabulous people, and not having a care in the world while we do it. Just imagine what it would be like to hop from city to city—London to Amsterdam, Amsterdam to Florence, Florence to Paris, and etc.—for weeks or months at a time. Along the way you’d have experiences you’d never forget. Maybe you’d wander the streets of Rome, taking in the beautifully historic sites and gorging on fine food and wine. Maybe you’d take a picturesque bike ride in the countryside of Amsterdam and try on a millionpairs of Dutch clogs. Or maybe, you’d find a little holiday romance and celebrate it with a kiss atop the Eiffel Tower. The possibilities would be endless.
Well now, there’s no more imagining required. Now every collegiette can be the jet-setter she’s always wanted to be. Truth be told, all of those things happened to me on my first Contiki Tour (holiday romance included). It was right after my freshman year at Skidmore and all I wanted was to take my own vacation—sans parents—and have a little fun. And that’s exactly what Contiki provided.
Here’s the deal: whether you want to travel to Europe, Australia, South America, or Asia, Contiki has a trip planned. They travel to over 40 countries and 8 regions, and have trips that last anywhere from a week to over a month. It’s completely your choice. And they’re guided tours, which means they include a tour manager and bus driver who always know how to show you a good time. Whether it’s leading that night’s pub-crawl or showing you around the city, they’re always there to help you out, and often end up becoming some of your best friends. Additionally, lodging, some meals, and many of the tours are included. It’s a great value and an easy way to travel. All you have to do is show up on time and you’re set! For a novice traveller, it’s the perfect introduction. And for those traveling experts, it’s a new and exciting way to see places you’ve already seen.

And the best part?
Contiki trips are only for 18-35 year olds. When else would you get the chance to travel only with people your age? Never! The company actually started in 1962 with a New Zealander who wanted to travel Europe with some friends. So, they hired a minibus, traveled for twelve weeks, came back, found more people to join, and did it all over again. And now, Contiki is the #1 travel company for 18-35 year olds. It’s the perfect fun, fast paced and action packedvacation that we’re all looking for when we’re in college.
Yes, getting to travel is an amazing opportunity, and yes, the sites are beautiful. But if you do it for one reason, do it to meet people you would never otherwisecould. On my first Contiki trip I traveled with 40 Aussies for 16 days and those 16 days honestly changed my life. They were part of the reason I studied abroad in Sydney, Australia last semester, and I still keep in touch with all of them. Traveling opens your eyes, but meeting people from around the world and sharing these once in a lifetime experiences with them truly changes you. And for the month of February, Her Campus and Contiki are giving away one FREE trip of your choice! Just answer one fun fact about Contiki and you’ll be entered to win. There’s nothing stopping you from enjoying your dream vacation. Maybe your Contiki trip will change your life the way it did mine. But one thing is certain—you’ll never forget those few short weeks that you spent traveling the world like the jet setter you’ve always dreamed of being.
