Vote in Figment’s Valentine’s Day-Themed Fiction Contest!

Does Valentine’s Day have you stressed to the max? Rather than worrying about making it through the day as a fabulous-but-unpartnered single lady or worrying about planning every last detail of your holiday celebration with your boyfriend, just relax. Take your mind off your own V-Day struggles by reading a few Valentine’s Day-themed short stories on Figment.com, a fiction site.

Last month, Her Campus partnered up with Figment to launch a short story contest inspired by our very own Real Live College Guy columnists. The prompt was to incorporate a piece of advice taken from a RLCG column into a Valentine’s Day-themed story of 1,500 words or fewer.

Now, the entries have flooded in! Writers from across the country (and even from across the globe!) submitted short stories. I’m truly impressed by how creative, entertaining, and addictive these stories are – once you read a few, you’ll see for yourself!

The winning story will be featured on Her Campus and the author will win a sweet prize pack. Want a say in who will win? Head over to Figment to vote. Here’s how:

1. Head over to Figment to create an account.
2. Check out the entries here.
3. Read as many stories as you’d like!
4. When you read a story you love, click the heart button on the left side of the page.

The ten stories with the most hearts by the end of the voting period, February 12, will be named finalists. The winner will then be chosen by the Her Campus editorial team.

I can’t wait to see which stories make the final round. Ready to vote? Click over to Figment to get started — and stop worrying about Valentine’s Day! Let the short story characters take care of that for you.
