Girl’s night
:
If you have ever seen the movie Valentine’s Day, broken-hearted girls bond together on this lovey-dovey day surrounding a heart-shaped piñata, clenching on baseball bats. Well, you may not have as ill of feelings toward this day as Jessica Biel, but if you are feeling lonely, don’t spend the night crying over The Notebook. Rather than the down-in-the-dumps alternative, plan a chic event with your closet girlfriends. Make reservations at Tutto’s or Takara, have a little fun and dress up, and make all the couples jealous by having the best time in the room. After, head to Campus Candy and each get your favorite treats for a movie night. I recommend watching a funny girl power movie like Bridesmaids. End the night talking and laughing the night away.

Night with your beau:
For those of you fortunate enough to spend this day with someone you love, don’t put too much pressure on the night, but also don’t let your plans fall by the wayside. Pick out something both of you like to do or want to try. Valentine’s Day can be a time to celebrate the things you love doing as a couple or the adventures you like taking together. Start by checking out the Chazen Museum, next find a local music performance, and for a more intimate evening, make dinner at home! It can be a fun thing you two do together, or one person can show off their cooking skills to the other.

Night with someone new/special:
Though you may be unclear about your feelings with this person, or have not yet “defined” your relationship, Valentine’s Day can be the perfect opportunity to express these hazy emotions. I suggest making dinner reservations at some place nice or some place you both love — sushi perhaps? Next, check out a movie at Union South. Classic date night for a situation like this is perfect because there’s not too much pressure, and you’ll still have a wonderful night. Try being spontaneous and show him your favorite place on campus, then sit, talk and just get to know each other. Love is definitely in the air on Valentine’s Day; why not take the chance to boost up the romance in your undefined relationship?
