Good news, ladies! Valentine’s Day, otherwise known to us single folks as Single Awareness Day, is just around the corner. Now, no matter how you plan to spend your Valentine’s Day, looking fab is simply a given. Here are some make up tips catered to a few common V Day situations:
Spending it with a Valentine
Remember, you’re not on a runway. You want to keep things simple and fresh. Chances are, you and your special someone are going to be within a close proximity of each other throughout the night, so there’s no need to go too dramatic with the makeup. Focus on making your skin look flawless with a touch of foundation (try Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick) and blush (like Clinique Blush Powder) and enhancing your eyes with a tad of liner or mascara; I like Bare Escentuals Big and Bright Eyeliner. Skip the false lashes, they tend to look very fake up close. As for the lips, add some color, but tone it down with the sticky gloss, especially if you’re expecting a special Valentine’s Day kiss!
Spending it with the gals
Here’s a good occasion to take a leaf out of Carrie Bradshaw’s book. You can go a little crazy, throw on some flashy heels and maybe even some glittery eyeshadow, such as the Sephora Baked Moonshadow Trio or liner, like Sephora Flashy Liner. Pick one facial feature to enhance and have fun with it. Get dolled up, but don’t go recreating the circus clown mug. This outing with the girls is the perfect opportunity for you to go all out, so make sure your make up, hair, and outfit relects that “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” attitude.
Relaxing by yourself
It’s totally cool to spend Valentine’s alone. Valentine’s Day isn’t just about love for your significant other, it’s about love of all sorts. Take this time to love yourself. And what better way to pamper yourself than engaging in an at home spa session? Cleanse your skin with an exfoliant, like this Fresh Soy version, or deep scrub. Try on a facemask, like this Fresh Rose Face Mask, while watching your favorite movie. If you’d rather listen to music or fall asleep, use cucumbers or a cooling eye mask. Hot oil hair treatments or hair masks are great too like Carol’s Daughter Monoi Repairing Hair Mask.
Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone!
