Hey collegiettes®!
Since HC’s launch less than three years ago in September 2009, you’ve helped us reach milestone after milestone as we do everything we can to serve collegiettes like you. We’ve started HC chapters at over 200 colleges and universities, all led by collegiettes, we’ve seen HC writers go on to score coveted jobs and internships at everywhere from Vogue to Glamour to Vanity Fair to The Washington Post, and just last month we officially trademarked our favorite term ever–“collegiette”, of course (check out the awesome R symbol next to it, above)!
It’s second semester now, which means we’re stepping up our game and announcing our most exciting initiative yet: One Million Collegiettes. That’s right, we want One Million Collegiettes to visit HerCampus.com this month. And we can do it–with the help of all of you (if you’re on the site right now, you’re part of that one million, so thanks!). We are SO excited about this goal of ours, we have some pretty awesome things in store:
If we reach One Million Collegiettes on HerCampus.com in the month of February, we’ll donate 1,000,000 (that’s 1 million!) site impressions to She’s the First, an absolutely life-changing nonprofit supporting girls’ education in developing countries. That means 1 million impressions (that’s over $20,000 worth of advertising!) on our site of site takeovers, ads, blog posts–everything we can to blow this phenomenal charity out of the water as a testament to all of our incredible readers that will have made this One Million Collegiettes feat possible.
But we’re not stopping there–for the rest of the month of February, to celebrate our journey to reach One Million Collegiettes, we’re launching our February Giveaway-a-Day–a new giveaway every day for the rest of this month. Think everything from OPI nail polishes to to Alex and Ani bangles to Rimmel London mascara to a designer wristlet–just come back every day to enter to win that day’s prize (and some days we’re giving away multiple prizes to multiple winners!). So make sure to check back here every day for the rest of the month for your shot at some sweet One Million Collegiette-ified swag.
So how can you help us reach One Million Collegiettes and support She’s the First? It’s simple (and involves doing what you do best)–Facebook, tweet, email, do everything you can to send your BFFs, sorority sisters, real sisters, guy friends (yes, they secretly love HC too), teammates, roommates, orgo-mates, you name it over, to HC!
