HC: What is your favorite aspect of Bryant University?  How have managed to flourish on campus as you have?

AM: My favorite thing about being a student at Bryant University is the small class sizes and the fact that you can build many personal relationships, not only with the students, but with the staff as well.  I’ve met my best friends here. I am involved in Student Ambassadors, the Honors Program and Softball. Before this semester started I was a Bulldog Leader, which was an amazing and unforgettable experience. Bryant gives you the chance to be an outstanding student, but also an involved member of our community.

HC: What has been your favorite experience at Bryant University so far?

AM: Sophomore International Experience was the most amazing time of my life. I went to Spain and Germany in January. It really opened my eyes and made me realize how badly I want to study abroad. I recommend every sophomore take advantage of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. My favorite part of the trip was learning about the history of these two countries and learning to navigate around a city I had never been to before.

HC: How did you get started playing softball? What are the most challenging things about being a student athlete?

AM: My inspiration for softball started when I was young. I played baseball with my brother growing up and one of my friends needed another player for her team, so that’s how I got into playing softball. I couldn’t imagine my life without it. Throughout my time here playing for Bryant, I have been recognized for special awards including Preseason Player of the Year, Second Team All NEC, NFCA Second Team All-New England, and Rookie of the Week.

Being a student athlete here, the hardest part is time management. My advice to any upcoming freshmen athletes: the quicker you can learn how to manage your time between school, social life, and sports, the easierand more fun your Bryant experience will be. Softball has taught me a lot of life lessons and I have created friendships that will last a lifetime.

HC: Tell us a little about your musical side.

AM: I love playing the guitar. I taught myself how to play in 7th grade. During sophomore year of high school I wrote my first song. Ever since then, I have continued writing as well as learning other artists’ songs. I played at my high school graduation in front of 5,000 people. I performed this past semester at Rente’s on Monday nights and at Salmo during Late Night Breakfast. Music is the perfect outlet to let all my stress out. I just pick up the guitar and everything else disappears. My other hobbies include snowboarding, hiking, longboarding, and doing anything outdoors.

HC: Where do you see yourself in five years?

AM: In five years I see myself a successful graduate of a graduate school. Hopefully I will be working for a sports team somewhere in the United States, specifically Colorado! I know that Bryant University has already put me on a successful path for my future.
