Three weeks and change until Spring Break 2012 means crunchtime—ugh. Who wants to trade a Tombs burger and fries for rabbit food? No one. Absolutely no one. My friends and I have been trying to keep ourselves motivated… and yet, eating Chinese food after a stressful day of exams and papers is ridiculously hard to resist. So here are some delish ways to stay on track if you’re dedicated to looking like a babe for spring break. They don’t include Wisey’s cookies, but hey, you can’t win ‘em all.

SWEETGREEN

Obviously a favorite (I shamelessly go there once—sometimes twice—a day). The only problem with Sweet Green is that when you choose to make-your-own salad, toppings can get pretty caloric. So if you want to make sure you’re not going overboard, check out www.sweetgreen.com — you can design your own salad online and the nutrition facts show up. One caveat: what you find may not be pretty; I showed this to a friend and she realized that the salad she always orders is 660 calories. Normally I would say ignorance is bliss, but not when you’re dieting pre-Spring Break. Try to stay away from cheeses and the “crunch” options, and substitute them for more veggies and my current obsession, the kale.

TOMBS

I am ashamed to even bring this up because it seems like a sin to suggest going to the Tombs without ordering the wings or the nachos, but if you are really dedicated (snaps for you), there are some healthy options. My favorite healthier meal is the chili, mostly because it tastes really good but also because it’s about 320 calories per bowl—even less if you choose the vegetarian option. Plus it will keep you full so you won’t be sitting in the library dreaming of the gummy bears at that are waiting for you at Midnight Mug.

PINKBERRY

If you have a craving for T-Sweets (which I do uncomfortably often), skip it and head to Pinkberry on M Street instead. The chocolate frozen yogurt is 120 calories per serving, and you can add blueberries and raspberries for a total of only 130 calories. Plus it’s fully amazing. It’s a great way to let yourself eat dessert and not feel guilty about it.

So, good luck with your pre-Spring Break endeavors… countdown: 22 days!
