Puppy Love: William and Kate Name Their New Pooch

Let’s face it – we are obsessed with all things royal, whether it is Kate’s amazing fashion sense or the power couple’s latest travel plans. Their life seems like something out of a fairy tale, leaving every collegiette wishing she had her very own prince charming. I don’t know if it is possible, but the couple might have become even more obsession-worthy since adopting a black cocker spaniel puppy in January.

The royal couple first met the pooch this past Christmas in Bucklebury, England while visiting Kate’s family. They immediately fell in love and decided to adopt the canine, but were unable to settle on a name. After much consideration and deliberation, William and Kate decided to name the puppy Lupo, derived from the Latin word for wolf. Why the name Lupo? A royal assistant told the U.K. Daily Mail that, “There is no significance in it apart from they liked the name.”

The couple originally tried to keep the name of their new family member private, but who can blame them for slipping up. Anything that cute deserves to be shared with the public!
