Spring Fashion Essentials

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UNH chapter.

Spring is just around the corner, so it’s time to start shopping for all the new essentials. Not like any of us need an excuse to go shopping, right?

I’m sure no one will be surprised to hear that florals are coming back. However, this spring, forget about your natural, soft florals. Instead deck yourself out in florals that have bright and unearthly tones. Pair a vibrant floral dress with a nude or tan blazer or jacket to give your girly look a little edge.

Except for when it comes to the bright florals, trade the energetic, neon colors for more Easter egg-like hues. Minty greens, rosie pinks, pale blues, and corals are the way to go when shopping this season. Pleated skirts are an essential this spring, so get a few in these colors. Add a button-up blouse and a skinny belt, and you’ll be looking great. Even try a maxi pleated skirt if you’ve got the long legs that allow it.

When trying to add a pop of color to an outfit, use these hues for pieces like blazers and pants. Blazers are still very popular, but break away from the typical, boring black one. Instead, mix it up with color or a different cut or fit.

Don’t be afraid to draw attention to those great legs of yours! Confidently rock colorful skinny jeans or leggings. Don’t go too crazy with anything neon or flared, but stick to the Easter egg hues for a flawless look.

A lot of outfits will be texturized with lace this spring. Instead of see-through lace crop tops, go for a more class look, in which the lace is added for texture.

It’s time to put the giant, hobo bag in the back of your closet until next season. Don’t worry, you’ll still be able to carry around all your essentials (and more) with oversized clutches. Over the shoulder satchels are also cute!
