The best part of being active in student government: The best part about being active in student government, for me, is having the opportunities to improve different aspects of student life on campus and work with my fellow Chatham sisters in a productive capacity. Also, I love learning about new things, such as learning how to lobby effectively, and improving my leadership skills.

Advice for anyone considering becoming an RA: The best advice I can give to anyone considering becoming an RA would be to definitely stay organized and on top of your tasks; know what you have to do and make sure you schedule time into your already busy schedule to get it done! Also, don’t sweat the small stuff and don’t get overly involved in your residents’ lives; your job is to be a facilitator and community builder, not their best friend (although it’s great to be friends with your residents!).

A good tip for sustainable living: “Buy fresh, buy local” … support PASA, join a CSA, shop at the East End Co-op!

Dream Job: Health/lifestyle/nutrition coach

Why you chose Chatham: I chose Chatham in order to have an experience different from that of high school. My host family in Australia spoke highly of their experiences in all-women’s institutions, and that inspired me to consider the idea of an all-women’s university. I love that at Chatham, you definitely get the best of both worlds, since the campus is secluded and serene, but you still have easy access to the city. The opportunities here are definitely endless if you take advantage of what is offered and have the initiative to do so!
