For collegiettes looking to procrastinate from studying for midterms just a tiny bit longer, Netflix’a Watch Instantly is a perfect distraction. The service allows customers to view various movies and television shows from the comfort of their own couch or bed.

Although the movies offered are not always the most recent, we can catch up on popular television shows that are both presently on-air or retired from the very first episodes.

Shows offered on Watch Instantly that have not been on the air since at least the spring of 2011 include:

Heroes(2006-2010): NBC’s sci-fi drama starring Hayden Panettiere and Jack Coleman about people who discover that they have superhuman abilities. Who doesn’t like a human version of The Incredibles? Plus, Milo Ventimiglia (the guy who played Jess in Gilmore Girls) was a cast member too!

Greek(2007-2011): ABC Family’s teen comedy-drama starring Kelsey Grammer’s (Frasier) daughter Spencer Grammer about the culture of “Greek” life at a fictional university in Ohio. The show was extremely popular among young adults. Collegiettes may find it interesting to note the similarities and differences between the Greek life on the television show and the Greek life here at the University of Florida.

Charmed (1998-2006): Remember the WB network? The Halliwell sisters certainly do -it’s where they fought evil every week. Starring Holly Marie Combs (Aria’s mother on Pretty Little Liars), Shannen Doherty (Brenda on Beverly Hills, 90210) and Alyssa Milano, Charmed captured the hearts of many with the family bond of witchcraft and the ultimate display of girl power.

That ‘70s Show(1998-2006): Who doesn’t love a little Kelso? Ashton Kutcher made his big break along with a couple other now very famous stars. Mila Kunis (Friends with Benefits) and Topher Grace (Spider-Man 3) also star in the comedic sitcom about a few friends hanging out in the basement listening to what is now classic rock and enjoying the culture of the 1970’s.

Friday Night Lights(2006-2011): Collegiates can be easily reminded of every fall Friday night in high school with the show starring Kyle Chandler (Super 8) and Minka Kelly (The Roommate) about the football team at Dillion High School. Remember the MTV reality show Two-A-Days about the Hoover High School Buccaneers in Hoover, Ala.? NBC’s Friday Night Lights is a lot like that!

LOST(2004-2010): Evangeline Lilly (Real Steel) and Matthew Fox (Vantage Point) star in ABC’s sci-fi drama that follows the survivors of a commercial plane crash that find refuge on an island that ends up posing a few threats of its own. This isn’t one of those shows that you can start watching in the third season and expect to know what’s going on, so Netflix is smart to have this show from start to finish.

Ghost Whisperer(2005-2010): This supernatural drama aired on CBS and followed star Jennifer Love Hewitt (I Know What You Did Last Summer) as she tries to live with the fact that she can see and communicate with dead people. As she juggles marriage and work, her character also helps spirits who are stuck on earth cross over into the light. Collegiettes who are interested in supernatural entities such as talking to the deceased will most likely enjoy watching Ghost Whisperer from the very first episode.

The Hills(2006-2010): The MTV spin-off The Hills of its hit reality show Laguna Beach, follows Lauren Conrad as she moves to Los Angeles to focus on her academics and her career. As one of the most popular reality series to date, this is one show that collegiettes have probably seen already but wouldn’t mind reminiscing with. Laguna Beach and Whitney Port’s spin-off of The Hills,The City, are also available on Watch Instantly.

Three popular shows still on television and offered on Netflix’s watch instantly from the beginning are Grey’s Anatomy (ABC), One Tree Hill (CW), and Glee (FOX).
