This week in the Life and Times of Paige!
Happy March everyone! This semester is sure going fast and I’m currently not trying to have heart attack thinking about it.
We are on a bit of a travel break at the moment so last weekend I finally got to explore London a little more. After travelling and exploring the tourist sites so much in other countries I realized I have been completely neglecting London and it made me so sad! So, on an assignment from our RA and my own will, we went exploring around London. My assignment is movie sites in London so I get to see super awesome touristy sites that I might not have otherwise got to go to.
First stop was the Notting Hill bookstore that is used for the Notting Hill movie. It’s actually not a bookstore but a shoe store now, which made me pretty sad, BUT it happens to be right in the middle of shopping heaven. It’s smack dab in the middle of the Portobello Market which is a really famous and super long market in London. I actually would have missed the Notting Hill store if it hadn’t been painted bright blue because I was too busy window shopping…
But aside from that the market had amazing deals! Like five pound summer dresses and stands and stands of hats and cheap souvenirs that need to be purchased. And jewelry…lots and lots of jewelry. I need to go back and I need to go back with money! My friends and I are going to do some damage.
I also managed to visit St. Paul’s Cathedral, and several other markets which were each amazingly different from the other.
Naturally on the way to all these sites we got distracted by super cute shops that I had no idea existed. Or found shops with super cheap things like 15 postcards for a pound…like I said I’m going back. We also stumbled upon the M&M London Store which is four floors of happiness. I have never wanted to eat M&M’s so badly in my whole entire life. It was a struggle to leave the store!
It was a fantastic day in London and I’m really glad I got the opportunity to explore a little more and it will happen again, perhaps this weekend! It made me appreciate what an amazing city London is and how lucky I am to be here and to be doing all these wonderful things.
Until next time!
Cheers,
Paige
