Junior social work major Julia Lyons is anything but shy about her infatuation for singer/songwriter, finally legal heartthrob, Justin Bieber.  Her heart is full with “Bieber fever” and she is proud to wear it on her sleeve.  In fact, Julia literally wore her love for him on the sleeve of her Justin Bieber t-shirt this past Thursday in honor of the singers 18th birthday.  So what is it like in the life a hardcore Justin Bieber fan?  Her Campus asked Julia to find out.

In three words, how would you describe Justin Bieber (JB)?
Inspirational, beautiful, and swagger.

What is your favorite JB song?
“Born To Be Somebody” or  “U Smile” or actually  “Trust Issues Remix”

What JB paraphernalia do you own?
Two Justin Bieber watches, Silly Bands, trading cards, calendar, singing toothbrush, two school folders, one notepad, keychain, and a t-shirt.  Oh, and I also have Justin Bieber nail polish – which are called “One Last Lonely Glitter” and “Give Me The First Dance.”  And of course “Never Say Never” his movie, and all his albums.

Describe your perfect date with JB:
So, I’m at his concert and “One Last Lonely Girl” comes on.  He then picks me out of the audience to serenade me on stage.  He hands me the flowers and teddy bear and lays one on me.  I hang out with his mom backstage for the rest of the concert.  He is really tired from his concert so afterwards we go hang out in his tour bus, get frozen yogurt, and make a mix-tape in his studio. That would be perfection.

Is there anyone you hope JB will do a collaboration track with?
Justin Timberlake.  Wouldn’t that blow your mind?  It would mix my childhood crush and adult crush together.

How do you feel about Selena Gomez?
(Sigh) Bittersweet.  She is a beautiful and talented girl.  And they make a beautiful couple.  But, it makes my heart heavy that it is not me.

What would be your reaction if you ever met him?
First, I would cry of pure astonishment.  Then I would be speechless.  I would hug him and not let go… but then I would let go because I would realize how creepy that would be.  I would thank him for being the most amazing person ever, and then cry a little bit more.

What is one song that completely describes your relationship with JB?
“That Should Be Me” was hands down written for me.

What do you want to say to all the people who hate on you for loving JB?
I would say to each their own.  I think people can love anyone or anything that makes them feel happy.  Justin Bieber is such a wholesome example of someone who never gave up on himself.  He is an inspiration to people of all ages to follow their dreams.  Specifically to people who hate on me: It is a feeling I cannot really explain, but my obsession with Biebs brings me joy and if that somehow rains on your parade, I am sorry.  One final thing, I have always and will always love and believe in Justin Bieber’s message, and hope to one day meet the man behind the music.

Hailing from eastern Washington, Julia attends the University of Portland in Oregon, as a Communication Studies major with an emphasis on Journalism. As a magazine and book junkie, Julia reads everything (and anything) she can get her hands on, especially those passionate on young adult culture and entertainment. A woman that gets stir-crazy easily, Julia has been fortunate to have traveled many summers in a row to foreign countries, including a study abroad course in Austria, Germany, and Great Britain. Since a ripe age, she has grown and cultivated her passion and dream of working for a magazine and spreading awareness as well as happiness through the tips of her fingers. Always finding time for herself, Julia can frequently be found quoting movie lines (most frequently Will Ferrell or Vince Vaughn), having a 90's dance party with her roommates, or rereading "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" for the 40th time.
