Five Collegiette- Approved Rain Boots

I don’t know about your college town, but the weather in Boston changes quicker than a collegiette’s mood during “that special time of the month.” Does Mother Nature expect us to run back to our dorms and change our shoes every time the weather changes? That’s definitely not happening!  After all, we’re very busy and important collegiettes! To ensure a weather-approved and chic ensemble, you need to invest in a stylish pair of rain boots if you haven’t already. But what if you’re not a rain boot connoisseur? Don’t worry collegiettes, we’re showing you our five favorite rain boots. With rain boots like these, you’ll be motivated to combat the awful weather with a super stylish ensemble.

1.    Hunter’s Women’s Original Rain Boot

If you’re in the market for versatile rain boots, look no further! With a variety of heights, textures (ie: matte versus gloss), and colors, you’ll definitely find a style that tickles your fashion fancy. But these rain boots are so plain, right? Not necessarily: Hunter also makes a plethora of rain boot socks. So invest in a cheetah-licious sock to spice up these boots. For a sleek look, wear these boots with a pair of leggings and an oversized blazer. The next time you’re bored on a rainy day, do me a favor and look around campus: I promise you most collegiettes will be wearing Hunter boots.

2.    Sperry’s Top-Sider Hingham Boot ($98.00 ON SALE FOR $74.99)

Don’t let the brand fool you: these rain boots are not overly preppy. The quilted top and the over-the-foot strap screams equestrian in the best way possible. Although these boots also come in all black, I’m obsessed with the green and tan combo: they’re major.  Finish off the equestrian look with a button up  and dark jeans. These rain boots are so cool, you might even be tempted to wear them on sunny days.

3.    DKNY’s Rain Boot ($85.00)

I’m a sucker for lace-up boots. But in rain boot form? Forget about it: I’m head over heels in love. DKNY gives us an affordable- and super sick- rain boot to gush over. While the bright pink version exudes a quirky and girly aesthetic (a la Zooey Deschanel) , the grey is super alternative and edgy. For a feminine take, pair these rain boots with a floral dress. Looking to release your inner indie chick? Sport these shoes with high rise jeans , a chambray, and an eternity scarf. Two different looks in one shoe? Can it get any better? Nope.

4.    Steven Madden Tsunamii Boot ($89.95)

This style is huge on campusese everywhere,  but did you know that our favorite Steve Madden boot comes in a weather-friendly form? If you’re craving a simple rain boot that has minimal hardware, I give you the Tsunamii. The front is everything you could want in a rain boot: sleek, simple, and stylish.   As for  the zipper and splash of colors, let’s face it: the back offers enough drama to cure any case of the rainy day blues. To make this pair of boots super chic, pair them with patterned jeans and a cozy sweater.

While all of these rain boots are stellar, what are you supposed to do if you want a really fun and feminine shoe to combat your campus’ less-than-fabulous weather?
