She Wears Short Shorts

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Emory chapter.

While shorts will undoubtedly appear each spring as a fashion staple, it doesn’t mean they need to be a boring item in your closet. Instead of letting your shorts take a backseat to the rest of your outfit, do some spring-cleaning this year and trade in your worn out denim for some of these fun new trends!

Dress Shorts- Shorts with a loose fitting leg and a flowing material look almost like a skirt, making it easy to dress them up or down for any occasion.

Floral- Get into the springtime spirit by sporting some beautiful buds on your shorts! Pair these with a simple top for a girly daytime outfit.

Destroyed- Slashed and stained styles put a new spin on the classic and comfy jean shorts.

Studded- Put a little edge into your wardrobe with some metal studded jean shorts. Try pairing them with combat boots and a graphic T to complete the look.

Print- Take a little risk and pick a fun and bold print to sport this spring. Pair it with a simple top and neutral sandals to let the shorts pop!

Color- Pick a bright and crazy color to jazz up any outfit and make your wardrobe a little more exciting.

Jessica lives her life at several speeds. She talks too fast, eats too slow and over-analyzes too much.  When she’s not telling long-winded stories, sitting alone at the dinner table, or staring off into space, Jessica loves all things creative. Screenwriter, play director and poet at age 9, songwriter and choreographer at age 16, now, at 23, all she really wants to do is write, help others, and post Instagrams.  As a social media coordinator for multiple fashion brands, and a post-grad writer for Her Campus, she gets to do just that. Jessica is a Midwestern girl from the suburbs of Chicago, but she fell in love with city living during a summer internship in the Big Apple, and now calls NYC home. Jessica loves chocolate milkshakes, dance parties, Chippewa Ranch Camp, Friends re-runs, Chuck Bass and of course, spending time with her fans (read: family and friends).
