5 Easy Ways to Earn Money on Campus

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Stanford chapter.
  1. Find your calling at the Stanford Calling Center.  Connect with alumni, talk about your Stanford experience and create your own hours for $13 an hour.
  2. It’s a new quarter!  No need to store those old textbooks any longer.  With a variety of outlets repurchasing textbooks, it’s easier than ever to get a good deal.  Make sure to check out the Stanford Bookstore, Amazon, and Barnes and Noble for the best deal!
  3. If you have 30 minutes to spare, sign up for a Psych study!  It’s an easy way to earn at least $10 cash –on the spot.  Check out sonasystems for available timeslots.
  4. Have a car?  Make Wheelz your new best friend.  A car-sharing service started by Stanford students, Wheelz lets you rent your car out to other students for your desired rate.  And don’t worry, they cover the logistics: gas, insurance and installing the DriveBox, so it’s hassle free.  It’s a great way to make money while your car would otherwise be collecting dust in the parking lot.
  5. I don’t know about you, but I have always loved babysitting.  Watching cartoons, coloring, and reading children’s books…for money?  Sign me up!  Thanks to Urban Sitter, it’s easier than ever to get connected with local families who need a little extra help.  Simply create a profile, record your available hours, and voila!  With features like recommendations, reviews and networks, you can ensure you’re safe.
