The USC has just announced the publication of a Western traditions book. The book, which will be passed on to incoming first years, is going to be filled in with students’ best and favorite traditions at Western so that upcoming students can make the best of being at Western. They are looking for your student experiences throughout your time at Western so we thought we’d ask around to see what your favorite traditions at Western are, before you get them published!
One tradition that made me proud to be a part of Western and walk around representing the color purple was Western Serves; a campus-wide program that takes place yearly to create awareness and encourage community service learning for Westerns students, faculty and staff. This tradition is very memorable and should be continued for years to come, as it brings students, their professors and other westerners together while giving each individual the opportunity to bring a change to the London community. Furthermore, it creates interest in Westerns and gives them the chance to learn so much about the community in London, while making new friends with the people they volunteer with and at the places work – Anonymous
Charity Ball, it’s an awesome event every year and you get to dress up! –Rida
Open mic night, its fun to see new talent and hear some great songs – Jessica
UWO Homecoming, easily one of the best events of the year – Hannah
Western Tent parties, they always have amazing DJ’s and incredible music!- Ali
The Orientation Soph Team! So glad to be a part of it next semester! – Haaris
Frosh Week, my most memorable experience at Western – Christina
