Since there are only five weeks left of the school year, why not begin watching a plethora of new shows rather than study for those beloved final exams? I know I am doing everything in my power to avoid work and entertain myself. I recently fell in love with a couple TV shows that I feel I must share with you all.
Â
1. Fashion Star
NBC’s Fashion Star is Project Runway meets The Voice meets Let’s Make a Deal meets Jersey Shore – okay, so that last one I just threw in there. Needless to say, there are a lot of elements of this show, but it’s very entertaining. Designers compete each week to get their clothes bought by either Macy’s, H&M or Saks Fifth Avenue and are mentored by Jessica Simpson, Nicole Richie and John Varvatos. Plus, you can buy the items on the show the next day!
Â
2. New Girl
This show has been out since fall, but FOX’s New Girl is hands down the most, in the words of Zooey Deschanel, adorkable, and may I add, hysterical. The writers of this show understand good and humorous writing, and the actors just get how to deliver the lines. Even better, dreamy Dermot Mulroney – from My Best Friend’s Wedding – plays Deschanel’s character Jess’s new love interest. You will constantly find yourself smiling from ear to ear while watching this show and repeating lines like it’s Bridesmaids.
Â
3. Happy Endings
ABC’s Happy Endings was cancelled after it’s first season, then renewed for a second season by some corporate hopefuls. Turns out, ABC was right – this show did not need to come to end, and it is even better than its first season. I wish I could be friends with this awesome group of people!
4. Fashion Police
Who doesn’t love the atrocious things that come out of Joan Rivers from E!’s Fashion Police. This show is probably best around awards season, but I still love to be updated on the best candid looks among celebrities. Bitch Stole My Look is probably my favorite segment and Kelly Osbourne is hands down my favorite judge. Follow Kelly on Twitter (@MissKellyO) for some of the best fashion updates.
Â
5. House of Consignment
VH1 finally got it right with HOC, a reality show that follows Ebay fashion business innovators. Corri McFadden is the co-founder of eDrop-off, the largest premier online consignment-shopping site. HOC’s Corri is a lot like Rachel Zoe of the Rachel Zoe Project, making the show even more fun to watch. She knows what she wants and how she wants it done; no doubt about it, Corri and the cast of HOC are super stylish and fun new reality TV stars.Â
