As collegiettes we’re almost always busy with school, sports, clubs, and of course our busy social calendars! But that’s no reason to neglect that extensive beauty routine. As girls, we love to pamper ourselves, but spa treatments can be pricey. So why not try some of these simple, all natural body treatments at home? Invite over some friends, make your own treatments, and indulge. You deserve it!

Face

Frozen Egg and Honey Facial Mask– For Dry Skin.
This mask is particularly soothing on sunburns!

  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup coconut oil, melted (but not hot)
  • 1 tablespoon honey

Step 1: Beat the egg in a small bowl until frothy and well mixed.  Slowly add the liquid coconut oil and honey, beating until your mask is the consistency of mayonnaise.
Step 2: Take an empty toilet tissue roll and set it on end in a clean bowl.  Spoon mixture into the cardboard toilet paper roll. Place tube and bowl in the freezer overnight.
Step 3: To use, peel away the top one-quarter-inch of the cardboard roll and smooth the frozen stick over your face (think of it as a push-up pop). Leave your mask on for five to 10 minutes, then rinse off with warm water.
Step 4:  Return the cream stick covered with plastic wrap and freeze between uses.

Grapefruit and Parsley Face Mask – For Oily Skin

  • 3 tablespoons very fine oatmeal (put through food processor if needed)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
  • ½ large grapefruit
  • Olive or sunflower oil

Step 1: Mix three tablespoons of very fine oatmeal with two tablespoons of chopped parsley in a bowl.
Step 2: Add juice from half of a large grapefruit until you have a soft paste.  Let the mixture rest five minutes.
Step 3: Spread soft mixture over your face and let dry for approximately 15 minutes. Rinse off with warm water. Follow with toner and moisturizer.

Chocolate Therapy Mask – Great Moisturizer!

  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 3 teaspoons heavy cream
  • 2 teaspoons cottage cheese
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 3 teaspoons oatmeal

Step 1: Mix all ingredients together and smooth onto face.
Step 2: Relax for 10 minutes, then wash off with warm water.

Pore Cleansing Strips

  • 1 tablespoon unflavored gelatin
  • 1 ½ tablespoon milk

Step 1: Mix two ingredients and microwave for 10 seconds to slightly warm.
Step 2: Using a clean cosmetic brush, apply to nose and chin area. Avoid delicate eye area.  Rinse brush immediately.
Step 3: Allow mixture on nose and chin to dry for 10-15 minutes. Mixture will form a “stiff film.”
Step 4: Peel off the film and stare at all gunk that used to clog your pores.

  • 8 drops grapefruit essential oil (or scent of your choice)
  • ¼ cup jojoba oil

Step 1: Place sugar into a large bowl and stir to break up any clumps. Add the essential oil.  Add one or two drops of red food coloring if you’d like it pink!
Step 2: Add the jojoba oil and Castile soap next, a little at a time, stirring after each addition. Mix well and pour into a clean container.
Step 3: To use, stand in the tub or shower and massage the sugar scrub onto your skin from head to toe. Rinse. Inhale. Smile.
