SLIDESHOW: 19 Philosophy Major Campus Cuties

Name: Will Graebe
School/Year: Appalachian State University ’14
Majors: Philosophy and Spanish
Class: Sophomore
Hometown: Raleigh, NC
Relationship status: Taken

Q: What is the craziest thing you have ever done for a girl?
A: Performing a poem in front of my entire English class professing my love for the girl I would soon date.

Q: What has been your most embarrassing moment here at App?
A: Annie Bartlett, if you happen to see this, then you know what the answer is. I hope you (and your outfit that I projectiled on) have fully recovered.

Q: If you had to put yourself in a stereotype what would it be?
A: Badass, but seriously, I would say that putting myself in a stereotype would be a little challenging.

Q: Do you consider yourself a romantic?
A: I’m afraid I would have to say yes, but most of the time I just end up looking stupid.

Q: How long was your longest relationship?
A: Two years.

Q: Where do you see yourself in ten years?
A: Hopefully working alongside my dad in Graebe, Hanna, Welborn, PLLC. Yes, that’s a shout out.

Q: What is your dream job?
A: NOLS Instructor, and somehow getting paid six figures to do it.

Q: If you had to pick a motto to live by, what would it be?
A: Life is what you make it. I want my life to be an adventure, so I plan to keep on finding ways to challenge myself and push my limits.

Q: Who is your celeb crush?
A: Natalie Portman, without question. Natalie if you are reading this I love you and I can be reached at graebejw@appstate.edu.

Q: What is the worst thing a girl can do on a first date?
A: Be worried about doing a “worst thing.” If a guy asks you on a date, then chances are they want to know you–the real you. Don’t be afraid to embarrass yourself or “screw up.” Be yourself and have fun with it.

Q: What are three things you look for in your ideal girl?
A: Patience, outgoing, willing to laugh at my jokes out of pity

Q: Name one thing you can’t live without:
A: Meatball subs. I live by them and will most likely die because of them.

Q: Where can we find you on the weekends?
A: Hanging out with my boys at Laurelwood, or hiking anywhere and everywhere. There is always a good chance I’m waiting outside of Emily Bishop’s basement door hoping that one day she’ll hang out with me.

What do you look for in a girl?
A sense of humor is a huge plus. I love being outdoors, so someone who’s into sports and the outdoor activities will have a lot in common with me. Other than that, just someone who’s interesting and fun to be around. A nice smile doesn’t hurt either.

What are some deal breakers?
I try not to have any definite deal breakers, but if I had to choose one it’d be smoking. And clinginess… pretty sure I speak for all guys on that front.

What is your ideal date?
I grew up on Hilton Head Island, so I’m partial to anything outdoors. My perfect date would include a nice bike ride, swim, or boat ride. Let’s throw in a picnic, too. My most memorable high school date was a picnic. As lame as it sounds, I planned it myself and was pretty proud of how it worked out. I just won’t forget napkins this time…

Do you participate in any clubs, sports, or other activities?
I’m the recruitment chair for my fraternity, Delta Chi, and I serve on the IFC Judicial Board. I cofounded a nonprofit organization, Green Hope, so I devote a lot of my time to that. As for sports, I play intramural soccer, run, and lift. I’m excited to have the opportunity to climb Mount Kilimanjaro this summer and I’m working on getting in shape for the climb.

Tell me about Green Hope and your involvement with it.
Green Hope started in the summer of 2011 when a friend and I were volunteering in an orphanage in Arusha, Tanzania. One of the teachers had been planning on eventually starting an orphanage school in her home village, and when we visited we quickly decided to help her out. We were pretty naive, because we had no idea how much work it would take to get it all started. But all our work thus far has paid off, because Green Hope is open and accommodates 28 children ages 2-5. We’re returning this summer to expand the facilities and develop the school curriculum to include health education. The motto says it all: “Kuua umaskini kwa kupitia elimu.” Swahili for “Fighting poverty through education.”

How have your experiences with this organization impacted your day to day life?
As anyone who has spent a few months in a developing country will tell you, it really puts things into perspective. I realize it’s cliché, but it’s the truth. Remembering what the kids are going through just in order to get an education motivates me to achieve in my own educational experience. There are so many things I could add, but I think overall (and my family and friends would agree) this experience has developed me into a more responsible, civic-minded person.

What’s your idea of a perfect date?
Going for a hike in the evening, watching the sunset, then going back and cooking dinner, then finishing the night with a movie.

How would you describe your personality?
I would describe my personality as adventurous. I am always looking for new ways to challenge myself, physically and mentally, and I live for the thrill and uncertainty of sports such as rock climbing and cliff diving.

Why is a philosophy major great to date?
Because every philosopher has touched on the subject of love. All we think about is love…we basically sign up to think of things. We can also work through relationship issues logically.

What kind of girl are you looking for?
I’m looking for someone who treats me and expects to be treated as an intellectual peer, someone who’s devoted and entertaining.

What are your turn-ons and turn-offs?
Intellect is the most attractive thing. Vapid, banal people, superficial people, and people that place stock in trite things are my turn-offs.

If time and money were no option, where would you take someone on a first date?
I would take her to Waffle House, because if she’ll say yes to me there, she could say yes anywhere.

What’s your “type”?
Does Miranda Kerr count as a type?

Is Miranda Kerr your dream girl?
No…Grace Kelly is, she’s the perfect female…like, ever. She’s extremely talented and beautiful.

What’s the most attractive style on a girl?
If I absolutely had to pick, it would be “boho-chic” or hipster…high-waisted shorts, that type of thing.

Boxers/Briefs?
Boxers.

Fun Fact: Before the age of 18, Evan had his writing published and played a solo in Carnegie Hall.

When you’re not in class, where can you be found on campus?
Like pretty much everyone else, I spend a lot of my time studying, more to catch up than to stay ahead of the workload. I’ve never been a fan of the library, so I try to find different places to study. When the weather is nice, I can probably be found outdoors–either relaxing, working or playing whichever sport I can (usually tennis). Every day I try to get in a good workout, so I’m usually at the gym in the evenings.

If you could go back to any point in time, what would it be?
In my life or in history? I guess both have the same answer: the 90’s. I would love to experience the time period from the perspective of both an adult and a child. Say what you want about smartphones, modern TV and the Internet: the 90’s was the time to be a kid. As a young adult, it seemed like the world was brimming with opportunities and possibilities. The world was about to change drastically and I would have wanted to see it (rather, realized what I was seeing).

Any hidden talents?
Unfortunately, none that I would consider a talent. I can’t cook very well, but I can make a great omelet, and my singing is slightly above mediocre. I am great with kids though, so I suppose that counts.

What’s your favorite memory at Duke?
On a particularly nice day this past fall, some friends of mine invited me along for some touch football. Being from Brazil, I had only seen it played a few times on TV, so I didn’t quite know what to expect. We went out onto the lawn in front of the gym and, long story short, I had a great time. As it turns out, being relatively tall and quick made me an acceptable wide receiver. We went out to dinner after, still sweaty and muddy from a few slips–but we didn’t really care as people gave us strange looks in the line of the fast-food restaurant. I still can’t throw a football to save my life, but I’m working on it.

Why philosophy?
Because I wanted to be able to contemplate the metaphysical implications of whenever I say, “Would you like fries with that?” But seriously, I’ve always been a very curious person and wanted to tackle ‘hard questions’, and since I’ve never been good at math, physics, or just any science in general, I settled for philosophy. It’s also pretty interesting.

Favorite philosopher and why?
While I don’t necessarily agree with everything these philosophers put forth, I would have to say my two favorites are Hume and Descartes; Hume for the very banal reason of him being sort of the foundation of Empiricism, and Descartes for his thoughts on mind-body dualism and its impact on future philosophical theories like Idealism.

Classic annoying question: What are you going to do with a Philosophy degree?
If I do pursue any kind of profession in the realm of philosophy, I think I would very much like to write or even become some sort of public figure; you know, just because I like to hear myself talk as much as possible.

If you were a philosopher, what would you wear as an outfit?
I’m a big fan of top hats and monocles, so I’ll go with that. Or, I would desperately try to look like Ryan Gosling in a suit…

Let’s say you compiled one of your philosophical theories into a book. What would the title be?
I suppose this a more serious question. I guess since one of my main interests is morality, I would like to write a book on morality; something with a scintillating title like A Philosophical Treatise on Morality.

What philosophical pick-up line would you use?
I only know a couple philosophically-oriented pick-up lines that only work if you know the theories behind them, but I think my favorite is (playing on ontological arguments): “You’re the greatest conceivable being, baby. I’m glad you exist.” And then I’d seductively wink.

 Finally, why do we exist?
This really isn’t fair since this is such a complex question, but I’d have to say that we exist to live.

Name: Halston Kirkpatrick
School/Year: Wake Forest University ’14
Hometown: Perry, Georgia?
Major: Political Science and Philosophy
Relationship status: Single (!!!)

Her Campus (HC): What is the one song on your iPod right now that you are constantly listening to?
Halston Kirkpatrick (HK): “Man on the Side” by John Mayer. I love him; he’s the man.

HC: What is the one thing you can’t live without?
HK: I definitely can’t live without my iPod. I’ve had the same one since 2004 and it has over 7,000 songs. I am always listening to music while doing work, working out, and sleeping.

HC: You seem like you are really into music.
HK: I am. Music is like a therapy; it helps you express the feelings that you have that you can’t otherwise express yourself. You hear a song, and then you’re like, “That is exactly what I’m going through.” I like real musicians who actually play instruments; so, I’m not really into this new Dubstep thing

HC: What are your future goals?
HK: I want to go to law school, then I want to be president, then after that maybe just like some kind of world dominant leader over one dictatorship to the world.

HC: (laughing) Wow, those are some pretty big aspirations! What qualities do you think you have to become the “dominant leader of the world”?
HK: I’m loud, obnoxious, opinionated and good at lying – which makes me the perfect candidate for a politician!

HC:  Who has been the biggest inspiration in your life, and why?
HK:Stewart Swain; he is the RUF intern. He is just “the man.” He has been so influential to me and my faith…and he is one of my best friends.

HC: Describe yourself in three words.
HK: Jesus plus nothing.

HC: So, your faith seems to be pretty important to you. Can you tell me more about that and how you have carried it over into your life at Wake?
HK: I’m involved in RUF. It is just such a cool organization that brings together an odd mixture of people every week to fellowship. When I got to Wake I met some of the campus ministers and decided to get involved. I’m on leadership within RUF. I lead a weekly small group Bible study and I also help recruit freshman to try and get to know them better to encourage them to get involved.

HC: What else are you involved with on campus?
HK: I’m a member of SAE and I’m on the Screamin’ Demon Committee. I am also a big advocate of the Frofing group (Frisbee & golf). That’s very near and dear to my heart. We make a course out of random objects that you have to hit with your Frisbee. You may have been attacked by a stray Frisbee or have heard a story about someone who has.

HC: (laughing) Fortunately I haven’t. So, what has been your favorite memory at Wake so far?
HK: Last year one of my mentors, Austin Strum (a past campus cutie), called me up and sent some friends and me on a hunt for a cardboard cutout of George W. Bush that he saw on campus. We found out it was in Shorty’s, but it turned out there were other groups there trying to get it too. So, the manager at Shorty’s locked it up in the kitchen. I then put on a suit and tie and made a fake nametag to disguise myself as a member of Student Union. I told the manager that I was the president of Student Union and really needed the cutout for an event. He believed me and handed it over. I strolled out of there with the cutout and gave it to Austin. The worst part is that Austin has done this interview and said that he did all of that. So, this is the truth coming out. It was a 100% me.

HC: So, you seem like a little bit of a prankster. If your friends were to give you a superlative would it be that you’re the biggest jokester?
HK: (laughing) Okay, I am definitely not a prankster! That was just one extreme circumstance. My friends will probably say that I am the most OCD person ever. My closet is color-coordinated and it has to remain perfect at all times. I also have to have my room spotless at all times.

HC: What do you to unwind after a crazy day?
HK: Some friends and I go down to the rock query and jump off of this like 50-foot cliff. It’s really relaxing. And sometimes I streak the quad at night.

HC: Wait, are you serious!?
HK: (shrugging) Only if it’s been a really crazy day.

HC: What is one thing people would be surprised to learn about you?
HK:That I am a theater state champion. I competed in high school.

HC: Did you ever think about taking up theater here?
HK:Nope, it’s too time consuming. You really have to dedicate yourself to it.

HC: Has anyone ever told you that you look like a celebrity?
HK: The other day my friend told me that I reminded him of the old Sherlock Holmes from the TV series. I guess it was because he was so obnoxious.

HC: Who is your ultimate celebrity crush?
HK:John Mayer. I know you were expecting a girl, but “crush” is weird word that could be defined in many ways. If you were talking about which celebrity I would want to hook up with, it definitely would be Natalie Portman; but, if you are talking about which celebrity I would want to spend an hour talking with, definitely John Mayer.

HC: What is the craziest thing you would do to get a girl’s attention?
HK: Ihad a girlfriend for five years and we just broke up; so, I’m not really trying to get a girl to notice me right now. But I always pass the crane that is by the construction near the new business school; so, I think it would be pretty funny to go to the top and get a megaphone and ask a girl on a date. Or, I will probably just say, “Eric Disch, will you accept this rose?”

HC: So, when you finally put yourself back on the market, what are you going to be looking for in a girl?
HK: (Sarcastically) I’m looking for a girl who is very attractive. I’m going to make a lot of people angry with this, but I’m looking for a girl who loves making sandwiches and doesn’t have any intentions of leaving the kitchen.

HC: What is the one beauty or fashion trend a girl can wear that you think is a huge turn-off?
HK: I hate wedges. I think they are extremely tacky and pointless…they show a lack of talent. If you want to wear heels, wear them. I also don’t understand girls that think leggings are pants.

HC: What is one piece of advice you could give single college girls about college guys?
HK: Find Philip Rohrer and marry him.

HC: (laughing)Who is Philip Rohrer and why should we girls know who he is?
HK: Philip is the only good guy on this campus. That’s a serious statement too.
On a serious note, girls should also stop trying to find fulfillment in other people by trying to dress up every day. Just be more comfortable with who you are. Also, don’t look to other people to call you beautiful because God calls you beautiful, and that’s enough. Many people at Wake – girls and guys – struggle with that.

HC: What is a compliment from a girl that would make you feel good?
HK: I feel any compliments are good. Being an a**hole like me, I don’t get many compliments; so, any compliment is good. Maybe something like, “you remind me of Philip Rohrer.” If a guy gets that compliment he knows he is doing something right.

Write an acrostic poem for yourself:
On

Men
Always
Nap

If you were a wild animal, what would it be? Gorilla, they’re intelligent, physically strong, social, and they have this kind of guarded vulnerability when you look into their eyes. Also, they throw poop at each other.

Every guy needs these three things in his closet: A good choice of shoes, comfy sweaters and skinny ties

If you were on death row, what would your last meal be? Lasagna

If your life was a movie, what would the title be? The Darjeeling Unlimited (because I drink a lot of tea…)

Famous last words? All right!

Name: Keith Gilvar
School/Year: Colby College ’14
Major: Philosophy and Government
Hometown: Sherman, TX
Relationship status: Single

Dorm: Heights

Favorite dining hall: Dana

Three things you can’t live without:  My siblings, my dogs, and my favorite pair of jeans.

Interests: Anything physically active, playing the guitar, sailing.

Favorite movie: It’s a toss-up between The Big Lebowski and Wedding Crashers.

Favorite song: “Don’t Think Twice, It’s Alright” by Bob Dylan.

Favorite professional athlete: Tough call, but I’d say Wes Welker (fellow Texan).

Favorite book: The Analects of Confucius

What do you do on campus?
I play varsity tennis, and I’m a member of the debate society. Aside from that, I sleep, eat, make it to the AC on my own time now and again, and try to get homework done somewhere in between.

What’s one girl trend you don’t understand?
You know those super thick belts that girls wear up high, riding up well above their pants or shorts? I always find that one fascinating, since I always think of a belt serving a kind of purpose or utility, namely, supporting one’s pants. Then again, I’m not even sure if it’s still a ‘trend’ anymore…

What do you look for in a girl?
The very first thing I see in a girl is her smile. Period. In fact, at the risk of sounding shallow, I’ll admit that a set of impeccable pearly whites is something of a prerequisite for me. I find that I also do cartwheels for girls who ‘get’ my sense of humor (most who do have to know me pretty well, but the ones who recognize when I’m trying to be funny right off the bat make me want to propose on the spot).

What’s your favorite pick-up line?
I tend to rely solely on my good looks, charm, and thinking on my feet as far as approaching women is concerned. If I had to go with a rehearsed pickup line, however, the movie Hall Pass had an opener I found clever: “How much does a polar bear weigh? Enough to break the ice.” Made me chuckle.

What’s your best feature?
My teeth, hands down, and I work hard to keep it that way. After all, considering what I look for in the opposite sex, I’d be a hypocrite if I didn’t!

Which author, dead or alive, would you want to write your biography?
I love the prose and humor of Bill Bryson, so I’d go with him.

What’s your favorite quote?
Oscar Wilde has a pretty deep one: “Where would you be now if you took your dog on a walk and never once pulled back on the leash?”

What’s cooler than cool?
Sailing. For one, it’s classy, and as my dad once told me, sailing is one of those rare things in life in which participating in the activity itself is unfailingly better than the idea of it. We’ve all had exposure to things like, say, an underwhelming sexual encounter, or perhaps the novelty of that brand new sports car wears off after a while, but somehow sailing is a brand new and exciting experience every time.

If you could talk to the people of the North Pole, what would you ask them?
I’d inquire as to their contingency plan where global warming is concerned.

If you could be one celebrity, who would you be and why?
George Clooney, because I want to age like a fine red wine and be that goddamn good looking when I’m in my fifties.

Write your memoir in 6 words…
I sat alone and thought peacefully.

What’s your go-to outfit on a Saturday night?
Depends on the night, but I don’t believe there’s such a thing as being “overdressed,” if that tells you anything.

What’s your most embarrassing moment?
It’s difficult to pinpoint one, but really any rough Sunday morning in Dana when multiple people I definitely don’t recall meeting tell me how funny I was the night before.  I’m never sure whether to laugh or apologize.

Describe yourself in 3 adjectives…
I’m often reserved, but also friendly and entertaining.

Secret talent: Cooking

Name: Ed Kitt
School: University of Exeter
Degree title: BA Philosophy, Politics and Economics
Relationship status: Single

Activities youre involved in on campus: I am Social Sec of Exeter University Boat Club so I have two sessions a day up at the sports park doing fitness. I also helped out on the Welcome Week Team moving fresh in to Birks.

Describe your ideal night out in Exeter: Going to Firehouse on a Friday night for some strong ciders before stumbling over to TP. After consuming a few Reefs on the middle floor head up to top top floor for dancing. 1.30am-lights come on, TP Burger, back to Pennsylvania Road- post lash. OR, EUBC social… cocktails in 44 Below then on to Arena to disgrace ourselves.

What qualities do you look for in a girl? Someone who is confident, opinionated and isn’t afraid to speak her mind. I think laughter is truly the best medicine, so someone with a great sense of humour and preferably someone who is sporty. Looks obviously play a part, but they are in no way the deciding factor.

What turns you off in a girl? The biggest turn off for me is someone who is too intense and possessive. Being easy going and relaxed in a relationship helps lead to a stress free lifestyle.

Your proudest achievement: Being one of twelve men selected to attend a GB Rowing Camp last summer which is designed to nurture young athletes for a place in the U23 squad.

Who inspires you the most: Although I probably won’t hear the last of this, the most inspirational person in my life is my brother. He is constantly pushing me to achieve my potential, whether it is academically or in sport. When I’m in a difficult situation and don’t know what to do (which happens all too often) I can rely on him to be on the end of the phone and speak some sense.

Your favourite place in the world: My favourite place on earth is Angel’s Armchair, a natural pool located right on the top of Victoria Falls, Zambia. Bathing in the water whilst watching the African sun going down behind the bridge separating Zimbabwe and Zambia was a truly amazing experience.

Three items you would take to a desert island: An ergo (rowing machine), my iPod and my subscription of “The Week” magazine.

Maxim you live your life by: “Don’t quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion” – Muhammad Ali.

Where you see yourself in 5 years’ time: In 5 years’ time I guess I’ll be taking the standard graduate route, living with friends and working in London, hopefully for a PR and Consultancy firm.

Confession: I have an unhealthy obsession with Taylor Swift. I have all her albums and have a poster of her on my bedroom wall…

Name:
Joe Tyldesley
School/Year: University of Toronto ’13
College: I’m actually an exchange student. Originally from Stirling University Scotland. But here at UofT, I’m considered a part of Victoria.
Major: Double major in English and Philosophy
Place you call home: Last year, five friends and I rented a house in Stirling, Scotland. It was a five bedroom house, but between us, our friends and girlfriends, it was like 8 people living there. But that was really good. You can imagine how fun it was. I consider that home. Good times.
Relationship Status: Unfortunately, taken. I can’t even begin to describe her. Immensely talented. Very sweet. Short, which is good because I like short girls.

Favorite on-campus and off-campus locations: On-campus, hmmmm. I like Cat’s Eye because of the free pool offered. I’m not sure about off-campus. Maybe this place down on Bloor which has billiards. Very nice place.

Toronto’s best kept secret: Maybe I’m still trying to find it. But if I had to say, definitely some of the shops down in Kensington Market.

Pet Peeves: I don’t like lateness. I don’t like a bad cup of tea. Sometimes you just get a bad cup of tea and it ruins the whole day.

Ten years from now… : I’ll be 31. I don’t know; is that the appropriate age to have kids and dogs? Before I actually turn 31, I would’ve travelled all over so by the time I’m thirty, I’d be ready to be settled down. Somewhere warm and somewhere by the sea. Career-wise, I’d be teaching. More than likely English as a foreign language.

Top three things on your bucket list: I want to Jet-Ski. To go to Italy. And to have somebody buy my music… or pirate it. Whatever.

Every guy needs these three things in his closet: shirt, pants, and comfortable shoes. I’m not much of a dresser.

Your perfect girl in 7 words or less: Talented, short [note: Joe himself is a whopping 6 ft 2 in], flawed, doesn’t wear heels

Perfect soul mate material: Someone who is horrible at cooking but cooks anyways. Does that make sense? To be honest, I don’t buy into the soul mate thing. Sorry. Hate to disappoint.

If you could go out with any female celebrity, who it would it be? Mila Kunis is up there. Definitely her. She’s short, right?

One thing you want to do before graduating: I really want to go to a class real early, dressed in a nice suit, and start lecturing. I’ve got a PowerPoint ready for when that happens. Regardless of whatever the class is supposed to be for. *laughs* I wonder what’ll happen when the actual professor walks in.
Where would we find you on a Thursday night: Thursday nights are good and bad. Thursday is not a great night since I have a night class. But it’s also a good night since I can have a quiet pint up on Bloor at the Madison, especially since Thursday nights are good for beer prices.

If you could have a super power what would it be and why: Teleportation. For convenience sakes.

If there was a pizza named after you, what would it be called and what would be in it? What would be on it? Hm. I like a lot of Italian food so mozzarella, some basil, some oregano, some tomatoes, should be a little bit greasy. That sounds about right. It’d be called the Dollar Special.

Describe your ideal date: This is a very romance-based interview, huh. Well, hmm. Ideal date… I was never big on dates. I don’t like to formally arrange a date. Like, if you just meet up with a person, and then decide to have dinner, then we have dinner. If we fancy seeing a film, then we go see one. Just see what happens. But I don’t ever structure it as a date.

Famous last words…: I thought that would work.

How do you feel on being chosen as a campus cutie? I’m immensely proud. I’d like to thank everyone that helped me get here today. *laughs*.

School/Year: University of Pennsylvania ’15
Age: 19
Birthday: September 16, 1992
Year: 2015

Major: Undecided, but considering PPE (Philosophy, Politics and Economics)
Relationship status: Single

SpeaksEnglish and Spanish

Extracurriculars: Football. I would also love to get involved in musical groups but I don’t have the time.

Most time-consuming aspect of your life at Penn? Football — being a full-time student athlete is crazy, especially in season.

Weekend plans: Getting together with the guys and some kids on my hall, partying with my friends, just taking a break from everything else.

Perfect spring break: The Caribbean. I’m definitely a beach guy. I like to be by the beautiful pristine ocean and just waste the day away.

Favorite sport: Football (obviously) or basketball. I played basketball my whole life but if it came down to choosing, I would have to pick football.

Favorite music: I’m definitely a big fan of hip-hop, and also reggae-type music like the band Sublime.

Favorite TV shows: My favorite TV shows are House, Dexter, and Prison Break. I’m addicted to all three.

Dog person or cat person: Dog person.

Favorite food: I love all sorts of food, especially a really good cheeseburger.

Favorite restaurant: Cheesecake factory.

What is the first thing you notice about a girl? Her smile, and her face in general.

What do you find most appealing about girls at Penn? I like that I can actually sit down and have an intelligent conversation with them. Conversation usually comes naturally. They’re generally more accepting and cultured than other girls.

Perfect first date: Something traditional. I like to go out to a nice dinner or a movie, and if it’s nice out maybe we can go for a walk. Nothing too serious, just something where we can talk and get to know each other.

What do you look for in a girl? Someone I can be comfortable around. I want to be able to sit down and relax and not pretend to be someone I’m not. I like someone who takes care of themselves and definitely someone who is super, super caring. If I’m in a relationship I want to feel as important as I try to make her feel.

Do you believe in soul mates? I’d like to. I love the idea. I believe that there’s someone out there for everyone. How and when we meet, I have no idea, but I’d like to think that there’s someone out there that’s perfect for me.

Does true love last forever? I think so, yeah.

Do you believe in love at first sight? I believe in lust at first sight but I’m not necessarily sure about love. Love is a deeper commitment and you can’t really love somebody without knowing them.

Favorite pick-up line: Not that I use them but… “Hey, I heard you lost your number…but you can have mine.” Or writing your number on a napkin, and then telling the person they dropped it.

Celebrity Crush: Scarlett Johansson.

Favorite quote: My dad used to say this to me all the time: “If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball.”It’s by Patches O’Houlihan from Dodgeball, one of my favorite movies.

Penn bucket list: Meet or speak with someone famous, win an Ivy League football championship, and most importantly figure out what the hell I’m doing with my life.

Any celebrity crushes? Olivia Wilde

Top 3 pet peeves when it comes to girls? When girls dumb themselves down because they think it’s attractive, low self-confidence, and too drama oriented.

Perfect date in 10 words or less: The perfect date is all about the person.

Most played song on your iPod: Frat Star by Kai Schuster

What is your dream job? Senator of MA

Biggest fear? Seeing the ones I care about unhappy.
