Relationship Status: In a relationship with my high school sweetheart!
Hometown and What You Love About It: Delta, Pa- I love that it’s small, historic and rural. Everyone knows everyone! Around this time last year I stopped at the bank in town and the teller congratulated me on making the Dean’s List at Chatham! She’d read it in the Delta Star, our teeny tiny newspaper.
Â
Your Favorite Thing About Growing Up on a Farm: Living in the country, you are just surrounded by beauty everywhere. In the summer I spend a lot of time on the tractor and I don’t even take music to listen to or anything. I just look around at the beautiful landscape and get lost in my thoughts. As a kid, I loved being in 4-H and getting to take my dairy cows to Fairs and County Shows.
Â
Why You Chose Chatham: I chose Chatham for the Interior Architecture program and the atmosphere here. The secluded woodland atmosphere of the campus is perfect for a country girl trying to find her footing in the big city! There’s enough grass that I feel at home here, but the city is so close at the same time.
Your Favorite Thing About Being a Chatham Woman: I think there’s just something unique about Chatham, aside from the fact that it’s an all-women’s college. Overall, I believe the integrity and character of the young women you find here is unmatched. As a student at Chatham I feel that I am surrounded by inspiring people, which is something you don’t find everywhere.
Â
Major and Why You Chose It: Interior Architecture- it’s the perfect mix of creativity and challenge for me. It’s a difficult major, since it’s an Accelerated 3-year program, but I think the struggle has only reinforced how much I love architecture and design.
Â
Favorite TV Show:Â Modern Family, Up All Night, Once Upon a Time
Favorite Movie: Walk the Line
Favorite Musician/Band: I like all types of music, but being home for the summer makes me want to listen to country!
Â
Favorite Book: Emma by Jane Austen
Â
Favorite Food: Delta is right on the PA/MD border so I love Maryland-style Crabs and Shrimp!
Â
Childhood Dream Job: Ar-Far-Ve-Act = Artist/Farmer/Veterinarian/Actress
Â
Current Dream Job: Working at a small Interior Design firm and/or having my own line of Textiles and Home Décor to sell in department stores. After I retire from that, I am going to raise sheep and host weddings at my beautiful plantation-style home.
