Here are some helpful tips for new baby falcons– we were roommates our freshman year!

Do:

  • Look at your class’s Facebook page for helpful tips and updates
  • Buy a Bentley sweatshirt
  • Talk with your roommate over email
  • Buy a holder for your ID
  • Look for textbooks on Amazon
  • Buy multiple pairs of flip flops
  • Buy a suit
  • Buy dorm room snacks!
  • Join clubs on campus
  • Arrive early on move in day
  • Plan to go out and have fun
  • Buy popcorn
  • Find a TV show to follow during the week
  • Buy an egg crate for your bed
  • Get organizational items
  • Buy a shower caddy
  • Learn how to do your own laundry

Don’t:

  • Continuously stalk people on your class’s Facebook page (it’s creepy)
  • Buy everything that you like in the bookstore
  • Talk to your roommate on move in day for the first time
  • Wear your ID holder around your neck (THEY FALL OUT)
  • Only look at the bookstore for textbooks
  • Think you can walk the halls barefoot
  • Wear a suit to class everyday
  • Eat all of your dorm room snacks in the first week
  • Think you can join every club and make all of their meetings
  • Move in around noon, when everyone else is too
  • Get “Protective Custodied”
  • Burn the popcorn and open the bag in your room afterwards
  • Become obsessed with Netflix and skip class
  • Forget to buy sheets for your bed
  • Think that everything will fit in your closets
  • Think you can juggle all your shampoo in the public shower without a shower caddy
  • Show up to school without knowing how to use a washing machine
