Calling all social media savvy collegiettes! Bing launched a whole new experience – and you are invited to the Her Campus co-hosted party in New York City to celebrate! Bing search is not just about finding information any more: it is about taking action, and doing, and bringing your friends into the search experience to get their advice and opinions. The new Bing –- changes how you search. With a three-column design focused on bringing information both from the Web and social networks like Facebook and Twitter; experts, enthusiasts, and friends can now help you do more!

Whatever it is that you need to get done – whether it’s buying that new super cute sundress, deciding which new restaurant to go to for brunch, or choosing what movie to see, you depend on the opinions of your friends, family, and experts. The new Bing design focuses on unique ways to bring both friends and experts into your search experience through partnering with the most popular social networks, including Facebook, Twitter, and coming soon, Foursquare, LinkedIn, Quora and more. The right column on the new Bing is called sidebar and is a useful complement to standard search results. It offers you the chance to start a conversation and get help from your Facebook friends and the advice of experts from Twitter and blogs within your search.

Bing will offer up friends who can help with your search based on their likes, photos and profiles. You’ll even be able to post questions to get help from your Facebook friends as you search, and with the activity feed you can see posts and queries you and your friends have shared from Bing and you can help answer your friends’ questions. But that’s not all. For relevant queries, the center column– called snapshot – focuses on getting things done easier. Designed to help you take action quickly, you will find information includingmaps, reviews, photos and more.

The first column focuses on giving you results that look clean and fresh. Since all busy collegiettes are in a rush to find a quick answer, the traditional Bing search experience is still at the core of the new Bing. As part of the new design, Bing has removed clutter and brought in more relevant information on the first page to make it easier than ever to find exactly what you’re looking for and to get things done.

Make sure to check out the new Bing in the coming weeks here, follow Bing on Twitter and Facebook.

HC is hosting an event with Bing and Facebook in New York City on Monday, July 9th. Make sure to stay tuned to Her Campus for updates, and register for the event now!
