It all happened on the top floor of Castle House, in Professor Crawford’s tutorial. Our eyes met across the table, and before I knew it I was hung-over in a taxi on the way to catch a flight to Italy, next to Hannah. Quality decision. That random spring break remains as one the best weeks of my life, and Hannah remains as one of my best friends.

Besides restarting the St Andrews branch of Her Campus, Hannah has worked with the Tribe Online in their Fashion section, and continues putting Natalie Portman to shame with her ballet. Hannah is a dedicated student; whose organization and drive both impress and infuriate me. A confessed Anglophile, she loves London and one of her main passions is fashion— which is apparent in all of her outfits (again, both impresses and infuriates me). She is one of the few people I know who can pull off nerdy chic, or country gentry during the day, and then seamlessly transition into sleek and sexy or 1920’s glamorous at night. Hannah dreams of working at Vogue one day, and I can’t wait to see her face on the inside cover as Editor in Chief. Until then, you can keep an eye out for her here, and on the Tribe, where she will be working as photoshoot coordinator next year.

I met Sarah two weeks into our first year in an English tutorial with the legendary Professor Robert Crawford. We bonded over works by Dickens and Bronte. When Spring Break rolled around we decided to accompany each other to Italy. A week later we had gone from casual acquaintances to best friends.

Sarah is also involved in the University’s Polo Club and loves animals of all kinds. One time we accidentally showed up to a lecture in matching outfits: Sarah had been riding before, I hadn’t. Sarah is what you would call a social butterfly, and knows so many people that walking home with her is always an interesting experience. However, it is incredibly difficult to get her to reply to texts, emails, and Facebook posts because she is always so busy! Sarah hopes to work in the television production industry after graduation. I think she’s the next Tina Fey; she really is that funny! Next year Sarah will be the Social representative of the University Polo Club and will hopefully continue to contribute to Her Campus!

Hannah is a 4th year student of English Literature and Art History at the University of St Andrews.
