Five Summer-to-Fall Transition Pieces (On Sale!)

Who doesn’t love a good sale? Lucky for you, collegiettes, it’s finally that time of year where all the summer collections go on sale! We found five of the cutest pieces on the sale racks right now that we want in our closets. The best part? They all transition seamlessly (no pun intended) into fall 2012. Another reason to be nice to your wallet (and add more money to your fall froyo fund).

Ivory cut out back peplum top, Dorothy Perkins, $27 (down from $45)

Polka dots and a peplum…what a sweet combination! The peplum is one trend that is here to stay for fall 2012. And wouldn’t this top look just adorable with dark skinny jeans and metallic flats?

Triple Layers Floral Tulle Dress, Chicwish, $49.90 (down from $56.90)

The edgy tulle and black color of this dress make the floral print work for fall. The best part? This dress can be transformed to fit any style! Pair it with flats and dainty jewelry for a ladylike look, or tall socks and rugged lace-up boots for something a little more hipster.

Sheer Lace Detailed Peter Pan Dress, ROMWE, $39.81 (down from $41.90)

Peter Pan just didn’t want to grow up…and Peter Pan collars just don’t want to go out of style. But we’re not complaining! This quirky-cute trend is an excellent one to rock for fall 2012.

Inset Shorts Sheer Maxi Skirt, YesStyle.com, $34.20 (down from $38)

Sheer, maxi, and bright—this skirt is a triple trend threat. And that’s not all; it’s also a great summer-to-fall transition piece. So, a quadruple threat? Or a quintuple threat, since it can work for two seasons? We don’t know. We just know we want it.

Factory Classic Chambray Shirt, J.Crew, $49.50 (down from $64.50)

There’s something special about chambray. It’s easy and breezy for summer, but it also fits perfectly in a fall collegiate wardrobe. Black cigarette pants and leather loafers can make this top perfectly preppy for back-to-school.
