Ever wonder what happens when you bring together a medical student, a government official, and a management consultant? Besides a trio that has almost all its bases covered out in the real world, this incredible combination creates the Jubilee Project, a video production group dedicated to making a difference while also making change contagious (and they didn’t even need to add water!).
After the Haiti Earthquake in 2010, Eric, Eddie and Jason joined forces to create a short video to raise money for relief efforts. Since then, they’ve quit their jobs, created 70 videos for non-profits, and have become quite the force to be reckoned with—not many people can say they have raised over $30,000 and have over 4.5 million YouTube views.
The Jubilee Project does it all. From short films to mini-documentaries and music videos, they work to inspire, engage, and empower today’s youth to take a stand and help change the world for the better. They’ve brought attention to sex trafficking and domestic violence, as well as raised awareness for the American Society for Deaf Children.
But that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
This fall, the Jubilee Project is taking on one of their biggest missions yet: producing the End of AIDS. This 25-minute film will be a groundbreaking call to action that will be the centerpiece of the social media campaign to help put a stop to AIDS.
“We can make a difference. We’ve seen the power of social media creating social change by bringing people together to fight for a cause. We can do the same with AIDS,” Eric Lu, co-founder of the Jubilee Project, said. “We know what it takes to end AIDS today because of ordinary people in the past who demanded for better policies, treatments, and rights. We need to bring back that energy again and we want to do that with social media.”
But the Jubilee Project needs your help! Because money doesn’t grow on trees (weird, right?), they need your support to produce the End of AIDS. Your donations will go towards video equipment, travel costs, editing and graphic production, and distribution—every penny can make a difference!
